HILLSBORO SENIOR CENTER
June is here and so are warmer temperatures. Please drink plenty of water and, for those who need a break from the heat, stop by the center to cool off and enjoy a meal, fellowship and a program.
Darlene Schroeder will present gardening tips June 6.
The senior center is hosting this week’s meal at the Farmers’ Market June 7. The menu includes pulled pork, potato salad, fruit, cookie and water for $6.
All proceeds from the meal will go toward supporting the center and help with expenses.
The next board meeting is at 9 a.m. June 11.
Mary McFadden of Peabody, who does foot health care at the center, said the reason she comes every other month is because she needs at least five foot care appointments for a monthly service.
She will be at the center July 17, but if people would like her to come more often, please schedule an appointment soon.
On behalf of everyone at the center, I want to thank those who support our center. Donations are welcome and help pay for daily expenses. We are grateful for your continued support.
We also want to thank Supreme Floor Co. in Hillsboro for installing new kitchen and bathroom flooring. It looks great.
Everyone is welcome, no matter what their age, to have lunch with us. Meals are $2.75 for 60 and older and $4.50 for people 59 and younger. Come join us.
For more information on volunteering, programs, appointments or other center activities, call 620-947-2304. To make meal reservations, please call no later than 9 a.m. the day of the meal. We are located at 212 N. Main St.

MARION SENIOR CENTER
The Craft Corner was busy Thursday as a gentleman stopped by to buy a baby quilt and a set of embroidered tea towels. The quilters put in a new quilt this week to custom quilt for a local woman.
Shirley Bowers brought in some Calendulas (pot marigolds) to share with us.
We had an awesome program May 30. Steve Vincent came over from Hillsboro and displayed his piano showmanship. He played selections from “Sound of Music.”
I am starting a Steve Vincent Fan Club immediately.
Come join us for lunch June 13. There will be a program after lunch.
For more information on programs or to make a lunch reservation, call 620-382-2942 by 9 a.m. the day of the meal or stop by the center, 309 S. Third St.
