Hearing aid checks will be available July 18 by Haris Zafar beginning at 11 a.m., followed by a business meeting with the Senior Center board of directors during our noon lunch.

Business meetings are a good way for everyone to learn what is happening with their center.

National Lollipop Day is Friday, July 20, and everyone is urged to stop by for a treat. Like most unneeded, but fun holidays, no one is sure about the origins of National Lollipop Day, other than it’s a great time for something sweet.

Marion County Fair days begin July 25 and we hope others can come and join us for a meal and fellowship.

We want to say, “thank you,” to Newton Masonic Lodge 142 for donating a fridge and freezer to our...

We want to thank Joey Walter for all he has done at the center as a volunteer. We are blessed by his kindness.

As we settle into another month, Bonnie Sawyer from Marion Assisted Living will speak Wednesday, July 11.

We have a sign-up sheet for Tuesday, July 24, as we will be having a needle weaving class at 1:30 p.m., which will be lead by Janis Wright, our head cook. If you would like to join us or want more information, please call and we can add your name. It looks like it will be a great time.

Volunteers, please let us know and you can enjoy a great meal the day you help. We like to thank our volunteers who help keep our center going.

A big thank you to our Meals-On-Wheels drivers who get out in the hot...

With the end of June, we start a new month with a bang.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their red white and blue July 4 and on July 6 wear your summer hats to the center.

Someone might even get a prize for wearing their hat.

The center’s board meeting is July 9.

Come join us July 10 when Marion County Sheriff Rob Craft will be here. We hope to have a nice crowd join us that day for a meal and the program.

We still need volunteers for July and if someone can help, we urge them to give us a call. Remember, anyone who volunteers to help will get their meal free on that day.

Mary McFadden will be here July 17 to do footcare. For those who would like this service, call for an appointment.

Anyone new to the...

We will be closed July 4 for the holiday. Anyone who would like a frozen meal for that day is encouraged to call.

Bingo is set for Wednesday and Mary McFadden will be doing footcare July 17. Those who want to see her are asked to make an appointment by calling the center.

Our head cook, Janis Wright, will have a needle weaving class at 1:30 p.m. If someone is interested, call to sign up.

We need volunteers for July and ask if someone can help, to call or stop by the center. All volunteers receive a free meal the day they work. We want to thank everyone who helps support our center.

I will be gone a few days next week for surgery and Ruby Hilt will fill in for me until I can come back to work. Thank you all...

HILLSBORO SENIOR CENTER

Hope everyone had a great Father’s Day.

This week we will have hearing aid checks with Haris Zafar at 11 a.m. June 20 along with a business meeting to include the senior center board.

June 20 also marks the first day of summer and hot weather. One way to get out of the heat is to stop by the center for a cup of coffee or even a cold glass of water and come and try us for a noon meal.

Charles Rempel will no longer collect cans but people can still drop them in the white barrels by the center’s back door and they will get picked up.

We want to thank everyone who has helped out with the cans.

The July calendars are now available and we encourage people to stop by and pick one up. We are grateful to Emprise...
