Greetings from the Hillsboro Senior Center.

Thursday, Aug. 16, we will show “The Wizard of Oz” after lunch. Men’s Coffee will start at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17. Monday Aug. 20 is Hawaii Day. We encourage seniors to wear any Hawaiian clothing they have into the center. Tuesday, Aug. 21, we will have Show and Tell after lunch. Please bring something from your school days to share.

Please note: Commodity distribution will being at 10 am, Thursday, Aug. 23. This is a change from last week. Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion.

Senior Scribbles (Week of August 8, 2007)

Friday, Aug. 10, will be “Smores Day” at the Hillsboro Senior Center. We will share some fun facts about this campfire treat.

Tuesday, Aug. 14, Mary McFadden will be here for foot care starting at 9 a.m. Call the senior center and make your appointment today.

Wednesday, Aug. 15, is our carry-in meal. Bring your own table settings and a main dish or dessert to share. Dr. Zafar will start hearing checks at 11:15 a.m. and Chief Judge Michael Powers will be our guest speaker after the noon meal. He will give an overview of our judicial system.

Senior Scribbles (Week of August 1, 2007)

Greetings from the Hillsboro Senior Center. As we begin a new month, we hope you will join us for lunch and regular fellowship.

We will show a video, titled “Fall Prevention for Seniors,” after lunch Thursday, Aug. 2.

National Watermelon Day is Friday, Aug. 3. Join us for some fun facts and a melon cup served at lunch.

National Fresh Breath Day is Monday, Aug. 6, and we will also share about our closest friends.

Mary McFadden will give foot care Tuesday, Aug. 7. Call and make appointment.

Commodity distribution will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8. After lunch, Becky Lind will speak about the immune system.

Friday, July 27, is Bugs Bunny Day. Join us for some “Bugs” cartoonsbefore lunch at 10:30 a.m. Jona Baltzer will provide special musicafter lunch.

We hope you will make time to visit us for lunch or a program as the month of July fades into August.
