Hillsboro Senior Center’s Carry-In Day is at noon Wednesday, April 15. Those planning to participate are asked to bring table service and a side dish or dessert. “Mind Aerobics” will also be featured.

A men’s coffee is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, April 17. In addition, Mary McFadden, RN, will be available for foot care. For an appointment, call 947-2304.

Following lunch on Monday, April 20 is “Nancy’s Style Show” and everyone is invited to attend. Lunch prices for those under 60 is $4.50 and 60 and over is $2.75. Lunch reservations are needed by 9 a.m. the day of the meal by calling 947-2304.

The center also extends a “big thank you” to those who volunteered this past week in the kitchen, and they are Lois Nuss...

Pastor Plato and Ann Shepherd will provide our Easter dinner’s inspirational time.

“Homeward Bound” will be shown Thursday for theater day.

Come for coffee and doughnuts with the center’s manager at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Monday, April 13, will be game day after lunch.

A big thank you to those who have helped in the kitchen and delivered the “Meals on Wheels” to homes. —Mary Dudley, director

Volunteers in the kitchen were Marcella Mohn, Frieda Birkle, Irma Koop, Irma Groening, Ruth Ann Penner, Frances Remple, Shirley Hiebert, Louise Rahe, Marianne Unruh and Louise Rohe. Drivers included Lonn Richards, Jim Brennan and Ray Matz.

April 2 is International Children’s Book Day and the two Hurst girls will be reading to those eating at the center.

Commodities will be available to those who qualify at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9. This is a first-come, first-served basis. —Mary Dudley, director

Wednesday there will be games, goodies and gab after lunch.

Senior-Center---HPIM1111.jpg Senior-Center---HPIM1111.jpg The Hillsboro Senior Center board of directors has a new site manager, said Velma Hadley, board member.

Mary Dudley moved to Hillsboro from Wichita April 25, 2008, where she was broker/owner of Dudley Real Estate since 1979.

Dudley was looking for a small town to retire and as she drove in from the south on the 13-mile road, she said she began to feel at home and decided Hillsboro was a good choice for her.

Weekly volunteers: Carol Hicks, Shirley Hamm, Irma Koop, Irma Groening, Gladys Buller, Carol Ollenburger, Joanne Faurot, Eunice Matz, Mariann Unruh and Hope Allen.

Volunteer delivery drivers were Ray Matz and Plato Shepherd.
