We will be privileged to have Paul Unruh, ophthalmologist, who will address seniors on the subject of “Care of Your Eyes.” Plan to stay afterward for Games & Gab.

On June 17, the luncheon will be followed by Elfreda Fast’s stories of her past.

The Arlin Penner Family will entertain seniors June 17 following the carry-in meal. Bring a favorite dish of food and come for the luncheon plus music.

Christmas Time in Branson Branson is beautiful at Christmas time. The center is organizing a bus tour to Branson Dec. 4-7. Call for more information. —Mary Dudley, director

Senior Scribbles (June 6, 2009)

A “jam session” is planned from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 8, at the Hillsboro Senior Center. Anyone who plays a musical instrument and would like to join others for a time of fun with music is welcome.

Paul Unruh, a doctor of optometry, will be speaking after the Wednesday, June 10, luncheon. His presentation will be “Care of Your Eyes.”

Also on Wednesday, be prepared to stay and play some games. Some seniors have made a request for a card game of Pitch and also chess. If interested in either game, let us know.

Thank you to all those who volunteer at the Senior Center and to the Lewis Hagen family for a planter and The Garden Center for planting it. The flowers are a beautiful addition to greet seniors at the front...

Wednesday, May 27, is another day of “Games, Gab and Goodies.”

Looking ahead, our seniors are going on a bus tour to Branson, Mo., Dec. 4-7. We would love to have others join us. If interested in more details, call Mary at 947-2304. —Mary Dudley, director

Senior Scribbles (May 20, 2009)

Everyone is invited to bring their favorite prepared dish for “Carry In Meal Day,” Wednesday, May 20. Also bring your own table service and enjoy a good luncheon and a time of fellowship with other Hillsboro seniors.

Plan to stay after lunch for a time of “Games, Gab and Goodies.” Also on Wednesday, Dr. Zafar will be at the center offering his service to the seniors with hearing aids that need attention.

A Memorial Day celebration will be Friday, May 22. Louis Hagen will be playing his trumpet and daughter Coleen Koop will be accompanying him on the piano.

We have suggested if anyone would like to bring a potted plant in memory of a loved one, it will help decorate our center and cards of memorials will be read at the...
