hillsboro senior centerOur business meeting is at noon on Wednesday and May 23, Haris Zafar of Wichita will provide hearing aid checks.
The center is closed Monday, May 28, in honor of Memorial Day.
The need for volunteers continues and anyone who helps will get a free meal that day.
Also, please come and join us for a meal. Everyone is welcome no matter what their age. Meals are $2.75 for those 60 and older and $4.50 for anyone 59 and younger. It’s a great price for a meal and, with school almost out, the whole family can come.
The coffee pot is on by 8 a.m. and we would like to see you here.

hillsboro senior centerActivities this week include Bingo May 9 and Show and Tell May 11.
For Show and Tell, we are asking people bring anything to share. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13.
Footcare will be available May 15 by appointment and Haris Zafar of Wichita will be here May 23 to do hearing aid checks.
The center is a good place to enjoy a meal and fellowship.
The need for volunteers continues and the schedule is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Anyone who assists in setting tables, cleaning up and helping with drying dishes is welcome to a free meal that day.
Meals are $2.75 for those 60 and older and $4.50 for anyone 59 and younger.
Reservations are due on or before 9 a.m. the day of the meal.

hillsboro senior centerWe want to thank everyone who came out to our fundraiser Saturday and appreciate all the support in helping the center. In addition, we appreciated the city of Hillsboro for letting us have the fireworks show, along with our gratitude to our board members for their hard work and Charles Rempel for a great fireworks display.
The center is ready for May. How time flies.
Roger Fleming, Marion County Commissioner, is speaking Wednesday, May 2, after the noon meal.
Another highlight this week is having everyone bring pictures of their mother Friday, May 4. We hope many people will have a picture to share with us and great stories to tell.

hillsboro senior centerHere we are at the end of April and people are saying, “April showers bring May flowers,” so I guess that’s true.
This week we have bingo April 25 and at 6 p.m. April 28 is our “Shoot Off 2012” fundraiser with a meal, followed by fireworks at dusk. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to watch the fireworks.
Come join us for an evening of fellowship and another way to support your senior center.
The monthly birthday dinner is April 30 for all those celebrating a birthday this month.
May calenders are ready for everyone to stop by and pick one up or if you need one mailed, call us.

hillsboro senior centerTuesday was the deadline for getting state and federal income tax forms submitted and I hope everyone got their taxes done in time.
This week we have a business meeting at noon Wednesday, April 18, with board members.
Show ‘n Tell is April 20 and we ask that people bring their quilts to share.
We will have our “Shoot-off” fundraiser at 6 p.m. April 28. The menu will include barbecued pulled-pork, potato salad, fruit cups, cookie and water for $6. At dusk, Charlie’s Fireworks will sponsor a fireworks display, previewing new fireworks available for July 4. It will be a blast and hope you can join us for the fun while supporting the center.
