Accidents

At 10 p.m. May 31, Miesha Lasha Piggee, 21, Kansas City, was driving a 2002 Kia Spectra east on U.S. Highway 50 when a deer came into the roadway. The driver could not avoid the deer. Deputy Travis Wilson investigated.

At 7:40 a.m. June 7, Lisa L. Gable, 50, Herington, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee north on Limestone, when she left the road to the right for unknown reasons and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on the passenger side, against trees. The driver was lying on the passenger side door and seat. Deputy Derek L. Fetrow investigated.

At 3:55 p.m. June 11, Seth Michael Crawford, 19, Marion, was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger southbound on Sunflower. A deer came from the west ditch and the vehicle struck the deer 1/10th mile north of 160th. Deputy Bronson Shipman investigated.

At 4:56 a.m. June 12, Shawn Dale Crabb, 45, Peabody, was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero northbound on U.S. Highway 77 when a deer entered the roadway from the west. The driver was unable to avoid striking the deer. Deputy Wilma Mueller investigated.

At 8:30 p.m. June 15, Adam Joseph Makovec, 17, Lincolnville, was traveling southbound on Remington in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado when deer came from the west ditch onto the roadway. The driver swerved to the right to avoid the deer, and struck a culvert marker post 1/10th mile south of 290th. Deputy Bronson Shipman investigated.

June 7: Assisted the Marion County sheriff with a fatality accident. Report of a possible drunk driver on Ash Street. Assisted motorist.

June 8: Child custody dispute in the 400 block of North Ash. Returned property to a subject who had left it at a local business. Dog complaint at the Hillsboro Water Plant. Motorist assist in the 100 block of North Ash.

June 9: Delayed report of underage drinking in the 100 block of South Birch. Non-injury accident in the industrial park. Report of a reckless driver in Memorial Park. Com?mer?cial alarm in the 300 block of North Ash.

June 10: Officers assisted with the Hillsboro Youth Academy. Parking complaint in the 400 block of South Washington. Landlord/tenant dispute in the 400 block of South Ash. Registered bicycles at Hillsboro Police Department. Child custody dispute in the 400 block of North Ash.

June 11: Assisted with a motor?ist having medical issues on U.S. Highway 56. Assisted with a large group of bicyclists riding across the state. Report of a reckless driver at D Street and Main. Assist with a report of a burglary in progress on Indigo Road. Report of a reckless driver on U.S. 56.

June 12: Non-injury accident in the 100 block of South Date. Report of a pit bull in the 200 block of West Grand; subjects were ordered to remove the dog from town. Child custody dispute in the 400 block of North Ash. Report of an underage subject consuming alcohol in the 100 block of South Birch.

June 13: Harassment complaint in the 100 block of North Madison. Report of a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of South Ash. Checked suspicious activity in the 100 block of North Main. Checked suspicious activity in the 100 block of North Main.
