Parents are Brad and Sherri Buller and Kurt and Tammy Shaw of Hillsboro, and Doug and Kelly Covert of Salina.

Grandparents are Edie Ollenburger and Bud and Gladys Buller, all of Hillsboro, Chet and Lois Shaw of Solomon, Mary Martin of Canton, Jim and Joanna Farna and Mary Lou Covert, all of Salina.

Laura Jacobson of Sedgwick and Robert Stevens of Peabody announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-elect is the mother of Jeannette Jacobson of Sedgwick. Parents of the bride-to-be are Jerry and Ann Cunningham of Alabama. She is the granddaughter of the late Kenneth and Ann Johnston of Florence and Peabody.

She works as a certified medical aide at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.

The groom-to-be is the father of Robert Jr. of Kansas and William and Jesse Stevens of Peabody. His parents are the late Milton and Elizabeth Stevens of Florida.

He works as a truck driver out of Hillsboro.

The bride-elect’s grandparents are Irma Reznicek and the late John Reznicek and the late Albert and Pauline Makovec.

Hilary Kae Lelek and Tyler Whetstone are engaged to be married in October in Kansas City.

Lelek is the daughter of Dan and Nancy King of rural Peabody and Wayne and Jonette Lelek of Lewistown, Mont.

The bride-to-be, who lives in Manhattan, graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2005.

She also graduated from Kansas State University with bachelor of science degrees in psychology and sociology in May.

The groom-to-be is an engineering student at K-State.

Tiffani Ewert and Marc Knowles, both of Wichita, announce their intention to be married next summer.

The future bride, daughter of Morris and Linda Ewert of Wichita, is a Newman Univer­sity graduate and kindergarten teacher at Harry Street Elemen­tary in Wichita.

The groom-to-be, son of Steve Knowles of Goddard and Linda Higgins of The Colony, Texas, is sales manager at Mid Continent Credit Services in Wichita.

The couple plan to be married June 13, 2009, at St. George Ortho­dox Christian Cathedral in Wichita.
