• JAMES S. HECKARD, 85,
a retired oil field worker and supervisor of McPherson, died Aug. 13 at The Cedars in McPherson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Olson’s Mortuary, 139 N. Main, Canton. Burial will be at Canton Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 17 at Olson’s Mortuary.
He was born July 20, 1926, to Ira Rudy and Letha (Bailey) Heckard in Butler County. On Aug. 17, 1946, he was married to Luetta A. Phillis, who predeceased him on Feb. 6, 2001.
Survivors include daughter Cathy L. and Steven Bair of McPherson; sister Peggy Soukup of Pampa, Texas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

• RUBY MARIE (FORD) LINNENS, 91,
a homemaker of Marion, died Aug. 12 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
Services were Aug. 15 at Valley United Methodist Church in Marion. Burial was in the Marion Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 18, 1919, to Clee and Tressie (Blankley) Ford in rural Marion County. On Dec. 10, 1939, she was married to Boyd Wilson Linnens, who predeceased her.
She is survived by sisters Fern Timm of Herington and Elizabeth Koegeboehn of Council Grove; a sister-in-law Doris Ford of Marion; one grandson; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

• RUBY (PLETT) REIMER, 81,
a homemaker, died Aug. 12 at Presbyterian Manor in Newton.
A private family burial is Saturday, Aug. 20, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, 1304 Kansas Highway 15, Goessel.
Visitation with the family is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 19, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.
She was born Feb. 4, 1930, to George and Helena (Becker) Plett in Beaver County, Okla. On May 27, 1956, she was married to Randolph Reimer, who survives.
Other survivors include daughter, Elaine and Ken Schmidt, rural Lehigh; sons, Don and Judy Reimer of Inman and Ed and Tracy Reimer of Park City; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
