• helen e. costello, 93,

an English teacher, of Tampa, died March 3 at Derby Health and Rehabilitation in Derby.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at Holy Redeemer Church, Tampa. Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, also at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tampa.

She was born Dec. 15, 1919, to L.F. and Marie Alexander Daughtry at Pratt. On June 12, 1947, she was married to Leo Costello, who predeceased her Dec. 18, 1995.

Survivors include daughter Patricia and Tom Ingalls of Mulvane and four grandchildren.

of Hillsboro, died March 3.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe, Hillsboro, with pastor Loyal Martin and Dave Henry officiating.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Henderson, Neb.

Memorials may be made to Parkside Home.

 

• ALENE R. (mcCoy) engel, 93,

died March 3 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at Woodbine Cemetery, Woodbine.

She was born Jan. 31, 1920, to Frank and Laura (Rodes) Burdette in rural Herington. She was married to Dale McCoy in 1940, who predeceased her in 1955. She then married Charles A. Engel, who predeceased her.

Survivors include son Charles W. and Sue Engel of rural Newton; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

• betty a. fetrow, 90,

a retired teacher, died Feb. 26 at Newton Medical Center.

The funeral was March 3 at Zeiner Funeral Home, Florence.

She was born Sept. 25, 1922, to Harry and Alma (Dorman) Wilson in El?Dorado. On June 10, 1943, she was married to H. Mason Fetrow.

Survivors include children Judy (Robert) Muessig of Morrisville, Ind., Carol (Donald) Mason of Rose Hill, Denise Fetrow and Bruce Fetrow, both of Cedar Point, and Robert (Bonnie) Fetrow of Wichita; a close cousin Dorman Freark of Colorado Springs; Colo., and eight grandchildren.

• vernon d. stika, 67,

a mechanic, of Tampa, died March 3 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center, Hillsboro.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March, 7, at the Marion Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion.

He was born June 1, 1945, to Mike and Helen Stika at Marion.

Survivors include brothers LaVerne of Herington and Eugene of Lincolnville and nieces and nephews.

• ivan w. wyatt, 83,

retired farmer and stockman of Chase County, died Feb. 25 at Holiday Resort in Emporia.

The funeral was March 2 at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Cottonwood Falls, with Bennie Holtsclaw officiating.

He was born March 20, 1929, to Carl A. and Gladys J. Stout Wyatt in Bazaar. On July 2, 1950, he was married to Martha Mushrush, who predeceased him.

Survivors include daughters Cheryl Leitnaker of Ottawa and Colette Freeman of Effingham, Ill.; brother Dale Wyatt of Honolulu, Hawaii; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
