• nova louise Bruner, 75,

of Marion, and a manager at C-Mart, died Nov. 27.

She was born Oct. 29, 1937, to Floyd and Velma Bogart Bredemeier in Marion. On Feb. 12, 1956, she was married to Merle Bruner, who survives.

Other survivors include daughters Cathy and Rick Cleeton of Marion and Cristi and Frank Soyez of Cedar Point; sisters Beverly Jirak of Marion and Roberta Warren of Carrollton, Mo.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

• alfred “paul” jost, 93,

of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and formerly of Hillsboro, died Nov. 21.

No funeral service was listed.

He was born Dec. 15, 1918, to Elizabeth (Funk) and Peter G. Jost in Herbert, Saskatchewan, Canada. In 1950, he was married to Jacqueline Haddock, who predeceased him.

Survivors include daughter Paulla Ufferheide; son Phillip Jost; sisters Jennie and Katherine; brothers Bob and Karl; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

• martha (bartel) peters, 87,

a farm wife for many years, died Dec. 4 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

A graveside service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Alexanderwohl Cemetery.

A memorial service followed at 3 p.m. at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with pastors Linda Ewert and Steve Schmidt officiating.

She was born June 24, 1925, to Peter and Anna Schmidt Bartel, in Hillsboro. On Oct. 21, 1948, she was married to Ralph Peters, who predeceased her May 15, 2002.

Survivors include sons Rodney and Linda Peters and Delbert and Janine Peters, all of Hillsboro; daughter Norma and Philip Duerksen of Orrville, Ohio; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Linda and Milton Goertzen of Goessel and sister-in-laws Elda Bartel of Goessel and Amanda Bartel of Wichita.

Memorials may be made to Bethesda Home or Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church and sent in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 303 E. Main St., Goessel, KS 67053.

• david winter, 22,

a railroad conductor, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Dec. 3, in Saluda, N.C.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, 610 S. Main St., Hillsboro, with pastor Steve Schroeder officiating.

He was born Nov. 30, 1990, to Dale and Rachel (Hofer) Winter in Hillsboro.

Survivors include his parents and sister Erin Winter of Hills­boro.
