a state employee, died Nov. 17 at Salem Home of Hillsboro.
The service was Nov. 20 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 1, 1928, to Joseph and Florence Schuyler at Vermillion. On Nov. 23, 1969, he was married to Lois Schlotthauer, who survives.
Daughter Jane Johnson of Wichita also survives.

• robert ellis phillips sr., 89,
a farmer of Hillsboro, died Nov. 17 at Hillsboro Community Hospital in Hillsboro.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at First Mennonite Church, 102 S. Ash St., Hillsboro, with pastor Susan Jantzen officiating. Burial will be at Haven of Rest Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
Visitation with family is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
He was born Nov. 14, 1923, to Luther and Gladys (Murell) Phillips at Newton. On June 21, 2003, he was married to Elsie Funk, who survives.
Other survivors include son Dan Phillips of Newton; daughters Roberta Rains of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Marsha Kientz of Newton; brother Kenneth Phillips of El Dorado; sisters Beverly Lafever of El Dorado and Dorothy Koehn of Newton; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The service was at 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at Christians Funeral Home in Lindsborg with pastor Darrell Cooper officiating. Burial was at Lehigh Cemetery.
She was born June 10, 1925, to Ernst and Agnes Loewen Weyand in Canton. On Nov. 21, 1943, she was married to Leonard Sippel, who predeceased her Aug. 18, 2002.
Survivors include son Gary Sippel of Mukilteo, Wash.; daughters Sheryl Pankratz of Bella Vista, Ark., and Rhonda Montero of Wichita; brother Arnold Weyand; sister Pearl Ediger of McPherson; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Pilsen Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 2, 1917, to Rudolph and Josephine Vinduska Svitak at Pilsen. On June 10, 1940, he was married to Ida Rudolph, who predeceased him on May 19, 2009.
Survivors include daughters Judy Ekter of Portland, Ore., and Mary Ann Conyers of Marion; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
