• LESTER E. GRIFFITH, 89,
a retired county agricultural extension agent, of McPherson and formerly of Marion, died Sept. 15 at McPherson Hospital.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 at Marion Cemetery in Marion. A service will be at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1200 E. Kansas Ave., McPherson, with pastors Michael Marion and Chris Whitacre officiating. No visitation is planned.
He was born Nov. 23, 1922, to William and Katie (Tiday) Griffith in Pawnee County. On Oct. 14, 1951, he was married to Ruth Ann Boyle, who survives.
Other survivors include daughter Pam and John Klenda of McPherson; sons Ed and Carol Griffith of Wichita and Jeff and Jeannie Griffith of Topeka; sister Ethel Busset of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and five grandchildren.

• GERALD HURT, 80,
a retired electrical engineer, died Monday, Sept. 11, at his home in Florence.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Zeiner Funeral Home, 104 W. Fifth St., Florence. Burial will be at Lincolnville Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 1, 1931, to Harold and Mamie Smith Hurt in Council Grove.
Survivors include wife Susan and son Jerry, both of Florence; daughters Fonda Hurt and Genina Hurt, both of California; sister Almeda Kahns of Lincolnville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
• CHARLES L. JONES, 64,
of Canton, an information technology engineer for Heartland Technology in Newton, died Sept. 14 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
Services were Sept. 18 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 905 East D St. Burial will be at Canton Township Cemetery.
He was born July 20, 1948, to George Calvin and Alice Mae (Lindgren) Jones in Newton. On May 31, 1969, he was married to Suzanne M. Nachtigal, who survives.
Other survivors include son Eric C. and Sonya Jones of Wichita; daughters Nichole and Matt Nesser of Wichita and Danielle and Brian Rogers of Canton; brother George C. Jones Jr. of Colorado and nine grandchildren.

• JONA V. REIMER, 90,
a retired farmer and school bus driver of Goessel, died July 19 at Newton Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Sept. 22 at Tabor Mennonite Church, 891 Chisholm Trail, rural Goessel.
He was born Feb. 18, 1922, to David U. and Caroline (Voth) Reimer in Walton. On May 15, 1945, he was married to Gladys Voth, who predeceased him. He later married Selma Bartel on Oct. 28, 1954, and she also predeceased him.
Survivors include son Delbert and Sherrie Reimer of Taylors, S.C.; daughter Nadine and Murray Reimer Penner of Wichita; brother Richard Reimer of Smithville, Ohio; sister, Evelyn Buller of North Newton; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and special friend Mildred Buller of Peabody.
