• MYRTLE D. GIESBRECHT,
72, a homemaker of Hillsboro, died Feb. 25 in Wichita.
Services were Feb. 28 at Alexanderfeld Mennonite Church, 1628 Jade, Hillsboro with pastors Orlin Koehn and Orlin Ensz officiating. Burial was at Alexanderfeld Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
She was born July 9, 1939, to John and Anna (Penner) Dueck at Stienbeach Manitoba, Canada. On Aug. 30, 1987, she was married to Jonas E. Giesbrecht, who survives.
Other survivors include sons Jonas E. Giesbrecht of Hillsboro, Keith and Karen Giesbrecht of Lakin and Ken and Shelly Giesbrecht of Durham; daughters Arlene and Karl Trudell of Nebraska and Karen and Lee Dirks of Greensburg; four brothers; three sisters and 10 grandchildren.

• IRENE MARIE HAMILTON,
93, a retired school teacher of Canton, died Feb. 23.
Services were Feb. 26 at Canton Christian Church. Burial was in the Canton Township Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 3, 1918, to John M. and Marie (Penner) Wall in Henderson, Neb. On June 23, 1940, she was married to Glenn C. Hamilton, who predeceased her Nov. 12, 2001.
Survivors include sons Gary of Wichita and Randy and Roberta of Canton; daughter Janet and Chris Newton of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

• ELEANOR L. SMITH,
90, a retired clerk at the McPherson County Treasurer’s office, died Feb. 27 at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson.
A graveside service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Canton Township Cemetery.
She was born May 23, 1921, to John L. and Grace (Shelly) Macklin in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was married to Roger E. Fasnacht, who predeceased her.
In November 1967 she was married to Marion Jack Smith, who predeceased her on Feb. 3, 2001.
Survivors include sons Keith Fasnacht of Grand Junction, Colo., and Glen Fasnacht of Hutchinson; daughters Jan Goering of Flagler, Colo., Shirley Brumbaugh of Grand Junction, Colo., and Ann Bartholomew of Haven; step-children Donna Swallow, Cheryl Groover and Stuart Smith; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
