• EUGENE K. FRANZEN, 89,
a farmer of Goessel, died Oct. 31 at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
Services were Nov. 3 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel, with pastors Steve Schmidt and Linda Ewert officiating.
Burial was at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 28, 1922, to John J. and Cornelia Klassen Franzen in Wichita. On Aug. 30, 1958, he was married to Doris Darling, who predeceased him.
Survivors include sons Dean and Kristine Franzen of Canton and Rodney and Ae Meyers Franzen of Lehigh; daughter Brenda Franzen of Canton; sister Marjorie Janzen of North Newton; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

• E. MARIE HANSEN, 95,
died Nov. 14 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.
Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, KS 66861, is in charge of arrangements.
• DORIS JANE HEIDEL, 81,
retired co-owner of Jost Plumbing and Heating, Hillsboro, died Nov. 10 at Newton Medical Center, Newton.
Services were Nov. 14, at the First Mennonite Church, 102 S. Ash St., Hillsboro, with pastor Susan Jantzen officiating. Burial will be at Haven of Rest Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
She was born Nov. 10, 1930, to Ed F. and Linda May (Reimer) Jost in Goessel. On Aug. 9, 1951, she was married to V. L. Doc Heidel, who predeceased her in 1996.
Survivors include adopted son Matt Hiebert of Hillsboro; daughters Sidney Bolstad of Newton; adopted daughter Valerie Steavenson of Emporia; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

• VIRGIL WANER, 98,
retired parts and service manager at Knoll Ford and formerly of Florence, died Nov. 14, 2011, at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.
Services will begin with Rosary at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Holy Family Parish, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Florence.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
He was born May 28, 1913, to George Franklin and Mary Agatha Meirowsky Waner in Florence. On Oct. 4, 1938, he was married to Mabel Winkley, who predeceased him Sept. 19.
Survivors include son Gary and Linda Waner of Warrensburg, Mo.; three grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established for Knights of Columbus Council No. 3423 in Pilsen and may be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St, Marion, KS 66861.
• DAVID FOSTER WIEBE, 81,
a retired educator and director of museums in Hillsboro, died Nov. 11 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Hillsboro Cemetery, with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, 610 S. Main St., Hillsboro.
He was born June 19, 1930, to David V. and Martha Frantz Wiebe in Hillsboro.
Survivors include brothers Raymond and John; sister-in-law Caryl; sister Connie Isaac; brother-in-law Don; five nephews and 15 great-nieces and nephews.

• FRANK ALBERT WILLIAMS, 87,
newspaper owner and editor, died Nov. 11, in Hillsboro.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Glasco Cemetery, Glasco.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family at Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington?St., Hillsboro.
He was born May 21, 1924, to Francis Leroy and Susie (Stevenson) Williams in rural Richmond. On Oct. 7, 1945, he was married to F. Leola Gull, who survives.
Other survivors include son Richard L. and Vera Williams of Hillsboro; daughters Marcia and Scott Seaton of Benton and Pamela and John Lutes of Emporia; sisters Dolly Wallace of Emporia and Leota Greene of Redding, Calif.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
