• Johnnie william nickel, 66,
a welder of Inman, died June 22 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita.
Services were June 26 at Grace Bible Church, Hutchinson, with pastor Rick Goertzen officiating.
He was born March 21, 1946, in Goessel, the son of John F. and Olga (Ratzloff) Nickel. On Sept. 20, 1968, he was married to Carol Herbel, who survives.
Other survivors include daughter Natalie Nickel of Hutchinson; son John Nickel of Kansas City, Mo.; brothers, Welsey Nickel, Lonnie Nickel, and Leo Nickel; sister Lila Koop and one grandson.
Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.

A memorial service was June 16 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Florence.

• SHERILYN DENISE KLASSEN NEUFELD, 59, a deputy and city clerk for North Newton, died June 13 at her home in Hesston.
Services were June 17 at Koerner Heights Church, Newton, with Timothy Mace officiating.
She was born July 1, 1952, to Perry and Clareen Duerksen Klassen at Goessel. She is survived by her husband John Neufeld of Hesston.
Other survivors include son Austin “AJ” of North Newton and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Laura W. Boese, 93, a teacher, died June 4 at Buhler Sunshine Home in Buhler.Services were June 8 at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church, with pastors Nick Rempel and Ken Adrian officiating. Burial was at Buhler City Cemetery.
She was born July 11, 1918, to Henry and Helen Bese Wall at Mountain Lake, Minn. On Aug. 15, 1946, she was married to Elden Boese, who predeceased her Aug. 30, 1986.
Survivors include daughters Marlene Bussone and Ruth Brooks, both of Springfield, Mo., and Mary Ellen Kuehl of Surrey, British Columbia; brother Harvey Wall of Clayton, Calif.; sister Alma Behrends of Buhler; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

• HAROLD B. JOST, 97, retired Hillsboro city clerk, died May 30 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, 610 S. Main St., Hillsboro, with pastor Roy Keller officiating.
Burial will precede the service at 10 a.m. at Gnadenau Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
He was born Oct. 30, 1914, to John R. and Helena Baerg Jost in Hillsboro. On April 25, 1943, he was married to Marie Franz, who predeceased him.
Survivors include sons Howard and Shanti Jost of North Haledon, N.J., and Loren and Katy Jost of Riverton, Wyo.; daughters Annette and Wayne Albrecht of Richardson, Texas, and Christine Harms of San Mateo, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

• Marie f. bergman jantz, 97,former teacher and homemaker, died May 24 at Asbury Park.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at First Mennonite Church, 429 E. First St., Newton, with pastors Anita Kehr and Kay Schroeder officiating. A graveside service is at 9:30 a.m. May 30 at Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton.
