Larry Hiebert

 

Larry Elliott Hiebert, 64, certified public accountant, died June 7.

The service was held June 12 at University Congregational Church in Wichita. Burial was in the Haven of Rest Cemetery in Hillsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl, a son, Mark H.W. Hiebert and wife E. Marlowe Wakeman; and his mother, Nell of Hillsboro.

A memorial has been established with the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation.

 Mary Wiens

 

Mary W. Wiens, 88, former associate professor of early childhood education at Tabor College, died June 4 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The service was held June 8 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Dave Plett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Roberta Bitikofer

 

Roberta Bitikofer, 86, died June 3 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.

The service was June 5 at Spring Valley Mennonite Church in rural Canton with Bruce Anthony officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.

She was born Aug. 15, 1920, to Harry and Edna (Beck) Selzer in Peabody. On Oct. 10, 1940, she was married to Allen Bitikofer, who survives in Hesston.

She is also survived by three daughters, Joan and Myron Yoder of West Liberty, Ohio, Sonia and Ray Tucker of Kimberling City, Mo., and Marlys and Dan Becker of Canton; three sisters, Ruby Ressler of Alberta, Canada, Doris Bitikofer of Canton and Gladys Yoder of Harrisonburg, Va.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Misty Childs

 

Misty Marie Childs, 27, chiropractic assistant for Sharenberg Chiropractic in Hillsboro, died May 22 in Wichita.

Services were held May 26 at Haverhill Christian Church in Augusta. Burial was at Leon Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 5, 1979, to Timothy M. and Charlene (Holt) Donnelley. On Sept. 4, 1999, she was married to Mike Childs, who survives in Lehigh.

She is also survived by her parents, Tim and Connie Donnelley Sr. of Leon; her siblings, Wendy and Stacy Simon of Leon, C.J. and Tanya Higgins of Little River, Timothy Jr. and Jennifer of Wichita, Scott Higgins of Augusta, Jamie Dalrymple and Brandon Nachbor of Augusta and Casey and Stacey Donnelley of Augusta; her mother-in-law, Loretta and Max Kilmer of Lehigh...

Ella Becker

 

Ella Becker, 93, former owner of Lighthouse Christian Book and Gift Store, died May 13 in Hillsboro.

The service was held May 17 at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro with pastor Dave Plett officiating. Burial was at Schartner Cemetery in Marion, S.D.

She was born May 14, 1913, to Abraham and Helena (Unruh) Unruh in Dolton, S.D. On April 2, 1934, she was married to Sam Becker, who died in 1989.

She is survived by three daughters, Darlene and Robert Franz of Hillsboro, Elvira and Richard Nickel of Rapid City, S.D., and Colleen and Wayne Regehr of Granby, Colo.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert Alkire

 

Robert Alkire, 75, retired employee of City of Florence maintenance department, died May 4 at Newton Medical Center.

The service was held May 8 at the Christian Church of Florence with Roger Scantlin officiating.

He was born Sept. 14, 1931, to Ambrose and Eva Coffman Alkire in Stella, Neb.

He is survived by two sons, William of Washington State and Kenny of Stillwater, Okla.; two daughters, Sheila Thouvenell of Marion and Elizabeth Crow of Stillwater; and eight grandchildren.

Aliene F. Anderson, 84, retired secretary, died May 5 in Wichita.
