Aldine L. Funk

 

Aldine L. Funk, 81, former baker for USD 373, died Aug. 2 at her home.

The service was Aug. 6 at First Church of God in Newton, officiated by pastor Brian Curran. She was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

Aldine was born Oct. 25, 1925, to Albert and Anna (Scheikow­sky) Pankratz in Hillsboro. On Sept. 1, 1947, she was married to Arlie Funk, who survives.

She is also survived by a daughter, Sharon and Kevin Hudson of Newton; three sons, Dwight and Sharon Funk of Newton, Dale and Kay Funk of Newton and Terry and Robin Funk of Newton; two brothers, Harold Pankratz of Hillsboro and Paul Pankratz of Bella Vista, Ariz.; two sisters, Mar­jorie Just of Hillsboro and Marilyn Neally of Titusville, Fla.; eight...

Mary Just

 

Mary L. Just, 81, homemaker, died July 30 at Salem Nursing Home in Hillsboro.

The service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with pastors Dave Plett and Loyal Martin officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Hillsboro MB Cemetery.

The family will receive guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Jost Funeral Home.

She was born March 23, 1926, to Peter and Mary Goertz Goentzel in Marion. On Aug. 10, 1955, she was married to Harold Just, who survives in Hillsboro.

Survivors also include sons Dennis and Sara Just of Moundridge and Leroy and Jill Just of Hillsboro, and daughters Shirley Just of Denver, Colo., and Dorothy Deckert of Wichita; brothers Vernon Goentzel...

Leonard Friesen

Leonard K. Friesen, 80, businessman, died July 23 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, with pastor Roy Keller officiating.

Burial will be at 10 a.m., prior to the service, in Guadenau Cemetery.

The family will receive guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at Jost Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1926, to Harry and Helen (Klassen) Friesen in Garden City. On April 10, 1949, he was married to Merlie A. Ratzlaff, who survives.

He is also survived by a son, Lyle Friesen of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Lynette and David Derstine of Perkasie, Pa., and Darla and Max Flickinger of McPherson; two brothers, Elmer Friesen of Hillsboro...

Marjorie L. Lohls

 

Marjorie L. Kohls, 80, retired housekeeper of Marion, died July 9 in McPherson.

The service was July 11 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. Burial followed in the Marion Cemetery.

She was born March 20, 1927, to Fred and Augusta (Kandt) Kohls at Elk.

She is survived by eight nieces and nephews, including Dick and Dennis Maggard of Marion, and nine grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A memorial has been established with Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion.
