Thomas Edward Orme Jr., 77, U.S. Navy veteran, died March 2 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 15 at United Methodist Church in Florence. A luncheon will follow.
He was born May 4, 1930, to Thomas E. and Viola Orme in Rushville, Ind. On Oct. 28, 1950, he was married to Joan Sorrell, who survives.
He is also survived by three daughters, Dianna and James Welch of Levering, Mich., Pennie and Larry Herbert of Rushville, and Melissa and Stuart Funk of Florence; a sister, Wanda Stevens of Rushville; and brothers, William Orme of Indianapolis, Ind., and Kenneth Orme of Washington; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

William R. “Bill” Carter, 60, social worker, died Jan. 11 at his home in Marion.The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. March 11 at Wichita Park Cemetery.
He was born March 1, 1947, to William and Fern Mast Carter in Wichita.
He is survived by a son, Marc Carter of Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, Randy Carter of Wichita; and one grandchild.
Reinhold Winter, 90

Reinhold Winter, 90, of Durham, farmer and stockman, died March 7 at Golden Living Center in Marion.The funeral was March 10 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. He was buried at Durham Park Cemetery.
He was born Nov. 25, 1917, to Jacob and Eva Winter in Durham. On Dec. 15, 1946, he was married to Helen Teetzen, who predeceased him.
He is survived by three daughters, Irma and Jim Piper of Marion, Linda and Jerry Horstick of Richmond, and Marlene and Mark Swisher of Reading; a son, Melvin and Diane Winter of Wichita; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial funds have been established with Zion Lutheran Church and Hospice Care of Kansas.
Marie Jantz, 100

Marie M. Jantz, 100, former employee of Salem Home in Hillsboro, died March 8 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. She will be buried at Emmanuel Bible Church Cemetery, rural Moundridge.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 10 and from 9 a.m. to noon March 11 at the funeral home.
She was born March 29, 1907, to Tobias and Mathilda (Richert) Eck in rural McPherson County. On April 10, 1929, she was married to Simon Jantz, who predeceased her.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established with Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
Richard Janzen, 79

Richard L. Janzen, 79, farmer, died Feb. 27.The funeral was March 3 at Resthaven Mortuary.
He is survived by sons, Herb of Mulvane, James and Connie of Wichita, Martin and Brenda of Oakley; a brother, Marvin of Springdale, Ark.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
