• MARTIN R. HAJEK, 87,a farmer and stockman, died Sept. 10 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.
Services were Sept. 13 at Holy Family Parish, Holy Redeemer Church in Tampa.?Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tampa.
She was born Dec. 9, 1923, to Stanley and Elsie Klenda Hajek in rural Tampa. On Sept. 17, 1949, he was married to Catherine Costello, who predeceased him.
Survivors include children John and Carla Hajek of Tampa, Mary and Walt Whitchurch of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; Susan and Dennis Rowley of Chesapeake, Va., Joan and Steve Hillyer of Shawnee and Diane and Steve Challacombe of Manhattan and 18 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9, at Zion Lutheran Church, 106 N. Lincoln, Hillsboro, with pastor Brett Huebner officiating. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
She was born to Gustav A. and Martha Hiebert Matz on a farm near Lehigh. On Oct. 9, 1940, she was married to Walter Robert Ebel who predeceased her Jan. 13, 1987.
Survivors include sons Donald and Peggy Ebel of Arvada, Colo., and Dennis Ebel of Chugwater, Wyo.; daughter Debra and Rick Eccli of Cheyenne; brothers Raymond Matz of Hillsboro, Leroy Matz of Thornton, Colo., and Ronald Matz of Lehigh; sister Myrtle Nesius of Littleton, Colo.; five grandchildren...

a retired elementary school teacher, died Aug. 26 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
Services were Aug. 30 at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church, 1498 Kanza Road, Hillsboro, with pastors Gaylord Goertzen and John Carney officiating. Burial was at 4 p.m. Aug. 30 at Green Crest Cemetery in Dodge City.
She was born Dec. 6, 1920, to Vernon and Jacy (Dillinger) Trexler in Bloom. On Jan. 18, 1948, she was married to Clovis Addison, who predeceased her in 1990. On Jan. 11, 1992, she was married to Ivan Hulstine, who predeceased her in 2008.

• EDNA REIMER, 84,a homemaker, died Aug. 18, at Bethesda Home in Goessel.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Aug. 24 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, 1304 Kansas Highway 15, Goessel, with pastor Steve Schmidt officiating.
She was born March 21, 1927, to Abraham Friesen and Susanna (Penner) Friesen in Hillsboro. On Aug. 22, 1946, she was married to Irvin Reimer, who survives.
Other survivors include son Howard and Linda Reimer of Ritzville, Wash.; brother Alvin Friesen of Hesston; sisters Evelyn Harms of Moundridge and Linda Bartel of American Falls, Idaho, and one grandchild.

a retired oil field worker and supervisor of McPherson, died Aug. 13 at The Cedars in McPherson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Olson’s Mortuary, 139 N. Main, Canton. Burial will be at Canton Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 17 at Olson’s Mortuary.
He was born July 20, 1926, to Ira Rudy and Letha (Bailey) Heckard in Butler County. On Aug. 17, 1946, he was married to Luetta A. Phillis, who predeceased him on Feb. 6, 2001.
Survivors include daughter Cathy L. and Steven Bair of McPherson; sister Peggy Soukup of Pampa, Texas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
