• GLENNON CROWTHER, 85,

a stockman and business owner of Durham, died Dec. 22 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Roxbury United Parish, 110 S. Lane, Roxbury, with pastor Nancy Modin officiating.

Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in rural Roxbury.

He was born July 30, 1926, to Jimmy and Vera (Nirider) Crow­ther at Roxbury. On June 9, 1946, he was married to Doris Zeitlow of Durham, who survives.

Other survivors include brother-in-law Leonard and Deanna Zeitlow of McPherson; sister-in-law Dorothy Zeitlow of Ponca City, Okla., and many nieces and nephews.

• MARVIN EUGENE SCHMIDT, formerly of Hillsboro, died Nov. 29 at Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.

No service information was available.

He was born May 12, 1933, to Adolf E. and Elizabeth R. (Funk) Schmidt in Goessel. He was married to Margret Richert. In 1973, he was married to Carol Bishop.

Survivors include sisters Betty and Laurence Bartel, LaWanda and Emerson Wiens, Dorothy and Lewis Schmidt and Lola and Jim Suderman; brother Bob and Glendene Schmidt; children Kevin and Toni Schmidt, Karla Schmidt Hilton, Kelsey and Steve Dirks; four grandchildren; and companion Faye Lowe.

• RUBY A. BARKMAN, 82,

of Newton, a home loan officer, died Dec. 6 at Pine Village in Moundridge.

Services were Dec. 13 at the Moundridge Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with family was held prior to the service. Burial was at Halstead Cemetery.

She was born July 7, 1929, to Jacob H. and Lydia Esau Barkman at Lehigh.

Survivors include sister Dorothy Roberts of Moundridge; five nieces and one nephew.

• CAROLYN C. BROOKS, 74,

a homemaker of Lincolnville, died Dec. 2 in Hillsboro.

Services were Dec. 6 at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion. Burial was at Lincolnville Cemetery.

She was born July 30, 1937, in Johnstown, N.Y.

Survivors include Roger Brooks of Simi Valley, Calif.; son Bill of Kirkland, Wash.; daughters Karen Selznick of Lincolnville and Jackie Brooks of Hillsboro; sister Robin Winter of California; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and special friends Steve and michelle Bolin of Yoncalla, Ore.

• BARBARA ELOUISE ABBOTT, 67,

a secretary and homemaker of Marion, died Nov. 24 at Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 30 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, 105 Eastmoor Drive, Marion. Burial will be at Marion Cemetery.

She was born July 11, 1944, to Clifford and Helen Butts in Wichita. She was married to Caleb Abbott, who survives.

Other survivors include sister Beverly Roseberry of Tecumseh; daughter Tara Abbott of Wichita; son Carl and Debbie Abbott of Mexico, Mo., and two granddaughters.
