Dennis Scott Litwiller, 44, of Muleshoe, Texas, formerly of Hillsboro, died Jan. 24 at his home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27 at Farwell (Texas) Country Church. Burial will be at Farwell Country Church Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 14, 1963, to Leonard Keith and DeAnna Jane Litwiller in Alma, Miss. On Sept. 30, 1984, he was married to Virginia Lou Giesbrecht, who survives.

He is also survived by three sons, Brandon Scott, Dalyn Keith and Joshua David, all of Muleshoe; two daughters, Elynn Rose (Mrs. Adam Johnson) of Texhoma, Okla., and Ailsa Fern Litwiller of Muleshoe; his parents of Water Valley, Ky.; a grandmother, Myrtle Koehn of Livingston, Calif.; three sisters, Twila (Mrs. Bruce Smith), of Tutwiller, Miss., Janise...

Helen Navrat, 82

Helen E. Navrat, 82, homemaker and former Marion Manor employee, died Jan. 22 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church in Pilsen. Burial will be at the Pilsen Cemetery.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion.

She was born April 13, 1925, to WIlliam and Hanna (Clark) Trostle in Council Grove. On May 1, 1943, she was married to Victor Navrat who predeceased her in 1987.

Michael Rempel, 46

Michael (Mike) Rempel, 46, employee at Wichita Welding Supply, died Jan. 20 at his Newton residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at The Breadbasket in Newton.

He was born Sept. 24, 1961, to Lloyd and Frances (Siebert) Rempel in Goessel. On April 19, 1987, he was married to Aleta Markley, who survives in Newton.

He is also survived by his mother; two brothers, Bruce and Deana Rempel and Steve Rempel, all of Newton; and two sisters, Debbie Rempel of Wichita, and Nancy Kenton Kaufman of Hillsboro.

A memorial fund has been established with The Salvation Army in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, KS 67114.

Velva Jane Brunner, 74, of Belton, Mo., died Jan. 10 in Kansas City, Mo.

Services were Jan. 14 at South Haven Baptist Church of Belton. She will be buried in Hope at a later date.

She was born Feb. 19, 1933, to Norman and Hilda (Pigorish) Graham in Hope. She was married to Edward Brunner, who predeceased her in 2000.

She is survived by four sons, Robert Brunner of Harrisonville, Mo., and Gary, David and Daniel Brunner, all of Belton; three daughters, Cindy Ball of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Lindy Brunner and Becky McCarrty, both of Belton; two sisters, Isabella Bezdek of Hillsboro, and Viola Stevens of Belton; two brothers, Albert Graham of Kanopolis, and Gale Graham of Strong City; 19 grandchildren and 33...

Thomas Laughlin, 73

Thomas L. Laughlin, 73, of Canton, former employee of Excel Industries and Hustler Turf Equipment of Hesston and U.S. Navy veteran, died Jan. 20 at Medical City Dallas (Texas) Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at Canton United Methodist Church with pastor Richard Brooks officiating. Burial will take place at Canton Township Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at Olson’s Mortuary in Canton.

He was born Nov. 23, 1934, to Emmet and Viola (Kennison) Laughlin in Salina. On Dec. 18, 1960, he was married to Maida Tinsley, who survives in Canton.
