born April 11 at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, died May 17.

Services were May 23 at Baby Island in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

Survivors include his parents, Shane Cain and Serina Fisher of Newton; sister Abriauna Fisher-Soukup of Newton; paternal grandparents Charles and LeeAnn Cain and Gilbert Gozalez and Letha Cool, all of Newton.

Other survivors are maternal grandparents Charles and Linda Fisher of Peabody; uncles Ty Cain and Marine Pfc. • elsie m. burkholder, 74,

a homemaker, died May 19 at Marion Assisted Living in Marion.

A memorial service was May 23 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, 105 Eastmoor Drive, Marion. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.

She was born May 2, 1937, to Lonnie and Irene McKibben Smith in Marion. In 1955, she was married to Donald M. Burkholder, who predeceased her.

Survivors include her mother, Irene Richmond of Marion; children Jerry and Patricia of Topeka, Jackie and Clint Torgerson of Pt. Huron, Mich., and Penny and John Antoszyk of Marion; sister-in-law Phoebe and Bill Holdeman of Marion; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

• Agnes jeanne mastek bina, 91,

a homemaker, died May 14.

Services were May 17 at Holy Family Parish, Pilsen. Burial was at Pilsen Cemetery.

She was born July 18, 1919, to Vincent and Maria (Floch) Mastek in Brest, France. On Oct. 13, 1941, she was married to Ernest W. Bina, who predeceased her in 1990.

Survivors include children Laverne and Harriet, Martin and Sandy and Dean and Pat, all of Marion, Mary Agnes and John Roniger of Burdick, Jane and Gene Johnson of Augusta, Raymond and Denice of Marion, Connie and Wayne Poppe of Oklahoma City, Okla., Rose Bina and Greg Trapp of Lee Summit, Mo., Alan and Susan of Bangor, Pa.., and Julie and Russell Kerbs of Tampa; 34 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild...

• alvin boese, 94,

a dairy and grain farmer, died May 1 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

A graveside and memorial service was May 6 at Alexan­der­wohl Cemetery and Alexander­wohl Mennonite Church.

He was born April 29, 1917, to Abraham L. and Maria Schroeder Boese in Goessel. On Sept. 9, 1946, he was married to Audrey Unruh, who predeceased him on March 20, 2011.

Survivors include children Alan and Sharon Boese of Lehigh, Anita Boese of Hillsboro, Ama and Murray Reimer of Hutchinson, Aileen and David Esau of Hillsboro; brother Ralph and Viola of Spokane, Wash.; sister Rosella and Harold Duerksen of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

died May 1. Arrangements are pending at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 303 E. Main, Goessel, KS 67053.

 

• harriet a. Bruner, 98,

died May 1 at her home at Marion Reservoir.

Services were May 3 at the Holy Family Parish, St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Marion. Burial was at Burns Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 17, 1912, to Harry and Nellie (Reynolds) Easley in Emporia. On July 25, 1934, she was married to Daniel Warren Bruner, who predeceased her.

She is survived by her son Bob Bruner of Florence; daughter-in-law Colleen Bruner of Florence; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and caregiver Charlotte Coleman of Marion.
