retired from work in the aircraft industry, died Feb. 18 at Peabody Care Center in Peabody.
No service was held locally and the decedent’s remains will be buried in California.
He was born April 26, 1928, to William and Rita Krueger Echtenacher in Chicago, Ill. On July 24, 2010, he was married to Sherrill Lanning, who survives.
Other survivors include adopted sons and stepchildren.

formerly of Goessel and employed at Target in Wichita, died Feb. 18.
The service was Feb. 23 at Grace Community Church, 1600 S. Anderson Road, Newton, with pastors Dave Reimer and Steve Friesen officiating.

• ELAINE J. CARGILL, 76,died Feb. 4, in Mission Viejo, Calif.
The memorial service was Feb. 10 at O’Connor Mortuary and Chapel in Laguna Hills, Calif.
She was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Madrid, Neb., to Harold and Hulda (Wall) Flaming.
In August 1963 she was married to Boyd Cargill, who survives.
She also is survived by a daughter, Carolyn and husband Randy Brazil of Hillsboro, and four grandchildren.
• lois ediger, 86,
a retired breakfast cook for Tabor College, died Feb. 9 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe, with pastor Brian Allen officiating. A private family burial is planned.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m...

• ellen hein, 73,of Roseburg, Ore., died Jan. 8 at Middlefield Oaks Assisted Living in Cottage Grove, Ore.
A burial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Marion City Cemetery.
She was born March 10, 1939, to Otto and Irene (Poland) Goddard in Florence. Her husband, Vernon Hein, survives.
Other survivors include children Charles Hamm and Debbie Hamm.
Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, KS 66861, was in charge of arrangements.

a farmer, died Jan. 29 at Medicalodge in Clay Center.
The service was at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 1 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clay Center, with pastor Paul Tessaro officiating.
Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center.

• elizabeth (betty kliewer) fast, 97,a homemaker of Goessel, died Jan. 25.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Goessel Mennonite Church, 109 S. Church St. Burial will follow at Goessel Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Visitation, with family present, is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 303 E. Main St., Goessel.
She was born Feb. 22, 1915, to Cornelius R. and Elizabeth (Ratzlaff) Kliewer in Corn, Okla. On Jan. 17, 1937, she was married to Anton Fast, who predeceased her.

• frank j. heath Jr., 98,a farmer and carpenter, died Jan. 17 at his home in?Burns.
Services were at 10 a.m., Jan. 21 at Burns United Methodist Church. Burial was at Burns Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 19, 1914, to Frank J. and Lizzie (Whitlock) Heath, Sr. in rural Burns. On Feb. 28, 1940, he was married to Rosalie McIntosh, who predeceased him July 2012.
He is survived by children Sandra Heyman of Burns, Larry and JoAnne Heath of North Plains, Ore., and Linda and Jay Willbrand of St. Charles, Mo., and their families.
