Valentine benefit

The Burdick United Methodist Church will have its 12th annual Valentine Benefit starting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 13, which includes an auction and meal.

Homemade soups, bread and dessert will be available by donation. The auction begins at 7 p.m.

Older Kansans Day Feb. 16 in Topeka

The North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging is sponsoring the annual Older Kansan?s Day Feb. 16 at the State Capitol in Topeka.

The rally gives area seniors, caregivers and others interested in senior issues the opportunity to visit with area legislators as well as be a visible presence in the Capitol. The NC-FHAAA will help schedule appointments with your area legislators.

The cost for the event is $10, which is used to defray the cost of the catered meal that will take place at the State Capitol rotunda. Those wanting to register can do so by calling NC-FHAAA at 1-800-432-2703.

Cinnamon roll demonstration set

?How to Make Cinnamon Rolls? is the topic at the next Lunch n? Learn from noon to 1 p.m. at Marion City Library, 101 Library St.

Rachel Collett, event coordinator, will show participants how to make cinnamon rolls.

Reservations are needed by Friday, Feb. 19, by calling the Marion City Library at 620-382-2442. Everyone is invited.

Marion Rec offers painting class

Marion Parks & Recrea?tion is offering a ?Smiley Snowman? painting class from 6:30-9 p.m. Feb. 18 in the basement of the Marion Community Center.

The class is intended for participants 13 years of age or older, no matter the skill level. Stencils and patterns will be provided.

Bethel College choir to perform

The 50-voice Concert Choir from Bethel College, under the direction of William Eash, will provide the worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, for Trinity Mennonite Church at 211 S. Elm St. in Hillsboro.

Peter Goertzen, campus pastor, will bring the message. Everyone is invited to stay for a free lunch.
