Cards requested for Funk’s birthday

Lucilla Funk of Hillsboro will celebrate her 90th birthday July 25 and family members are requesting a card shower in her honor.

She was born July 25, 1922, in Hillsboro. In addition to being a homemaker, she also made zwiebach at Ray’s Grocery Store and worked at Parkside Homes and the Hillsboro Senior Center.

She was married to Elmer Funk and together they had four children: Evelyn and Clifford Hett of Peabody, Ken and Pat Funk of Dodge City, Clifford and Tamara Funk of Wichita and Viola and Brad Penner of Newton. She also has six grandchildren and their spouses and 16 great-grandchildren. Her husband died June 30, 1976.
