Card shower sought for Schmidt’s 90th

A card shower celebrating Hilda E. Schmidt’s 90th birthday April 29 is requested by her family.

She was married to Peter Schmidt Jr., who is deceased. She is the mother of six children, Jolene Klassen, Darrel Schmidt, Janet Funk (deceased), Dwight Schmidt, LaVonne Marks and Julie Kaiser. In addition, she has 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Card shower sought for Mueller

Maxine Mueller of Hillsboro is celebrating her 90th birthday Feb. 20.

She was born to Frank and Juanita Haynes in 1921, and she was married to Werner "Bing" Mueller on Dec. 20, 1943. He died in February 1982.

Together they owned Mueller Dairy, north of Tampa. She moved to Hillsboro because of health issues.

She has eight children to include Mike and Sharyn Mueller of Olathe; Jim and the late Nancy Kay Mueller of Wichita; Rich and Susie Mueller of Mentor; Ed amd Barb Mueller and Nancy and Gary Hawkes, all of Salina; Alan and Cindy Mueller of Assaria and Ronald and Kaylene Mueller and Donald and Francie Mueller, all of Tampa. She also has 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Cards requested for Schmidt’s 85th

Jim Schmidt of Goessel is celebrating his 85th birthday Feb. 7.

Born in rural Kiowa County to Louis and Lodie Wadel Schmidt, he spent most of his life in that area.

In addition to serving in the U.S. Army, he worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co., Greensburg, for 33 years.

Following retirement, Schmidt enjoyed working part-time jobs and in 1992 moved to Hillsboro. He delivered medications for Greenhaw Pharmacy for several years.

In 1946, he was married to Gladys Philpott in Pratt. They have two daughters, Phyllis Van Horn of McPherson and Darlene Bartel of Hillsboro. Their son, Roger, is deceased. They also have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Card shower, open house for 90th

Esther Klein will have a card shower and open house at Salem Nursing Home from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 16 in celebration of her 90th birthday.

Open house Aug. 8 to celebrate 90th

The family of Ruby Suderman is inviting the public to an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church , 1498 Kanza Rd., Hillsboro, in celebration of her 90th birthday.

Suderman was born Aug. 9, 1920, to J.C. and Minnie Grunau, in Fairview, Okla.
