Bert Zogelman of Florence is celebrating her 80th birthday Oct. 21.

Her family is requesting a card shower because she appreciates receiving mail since she rarely leaves her home.

Penner to celebrate 99th birthday



Friends and family are invited to a casual “come and go” birthday party for Katherine Penner from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 in the commons area of the Park Village Congregate, 200 Willow Road, Hillsboro.

Penner will be 99 years old on Sept. 9 (9/9). She was born in Washita County near Clinton, Okla.

On April 2, 1983, she was married to Don Hiebert, and the couple farmed west of Hillsboro. After her husband’s death Feb. 28, 1957, she was married to Harry Schmidt Jan. 2, 1960. He died May 26, 1966. On Feb. 14, 1976, she was married to Paul Penner, who predeceased her June 17, 1982.

She has four sons to include Robert and Eddie Hiebert of Abilene, Paul and Marilyn Hiebert of Bridgeton, Mo....
