Couple to celebrate 50th anniversary

Glenn and Janice (Plett) Goertz of Hillsboro are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married May 30, 1960, at the Johannestal Mennonite Church near Hillsboro.

The couple retired as owners of Concrete Products, Inc. Janice was also a high school and college business education teacher.

They have two children, Dyan and Dave Thornton of Wichita and John and Kelly Goertz of Omaha, Neb. They have five grandchildren that include Drew and Olivia Thornton and Kristin, Lauren and Jacob Goertz.

Peabody couple celebrate 50 years

Maurice and Nancy Meirowsky of Peabody will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary privately with family and friends over the Memorial weekend.

The couple were married May 28, 1960, at St. Patrick Church in Florence.

He retired from farming and has continued to be an active member of many community groups and churches. She is a retired vocational home economics teacher of 32 years and does volunteer work.

The couple have a son, Stephen, and daughter, Kathleen ?Kathy? and Jim Holm. They also have two granddaughters, Bailey and Carly Holm, all of Wichita.

Reception set May 30 for couple?s 50th

A 50th wedding anniversary reception and celebration for Ron and Joan Kelsheimer is planned from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at the Cottonwood Falls Country Club.

The couple?s children are hosting the event.

They are Teresa Kelsheimer of Cedar Point; Cindy Walden of Olathe; Ron and Cindy Kelsheimer of Strong City; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The couple were married May 26, 1960, at the Florence Christian Church in Florence.

The family request no gifts.

Rural Marion couple to celebrate 50th

The children of Ken and Margie Nienstedt of rural Marion are requesting a card shower for their parents? 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married June 5, 1960, at Tampa Lutheran Church in Tampa.

The couple?s living children are Annette Nienstedt of Antelope; Chantal and Christopher DeYoe of North Fairfield, Ohio, and Theron and Alicia Nienstedt of Marion. Their son, Darin, died in 1966. They also have many grandchildren.
