Westbrook’s 40th anniversary nears
The children of Don and Ladonna Schlicht Westbrook of Canton are planning a 40th anniversary open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Canton Community Building, 100 S. Main St., Canton.
The couple were married March 9, 1973, and are lifetime residents of Canton.
Don has been employed at AGCO-Hesston for 43 years and his wife is employed at the Canton-Galva Middle School in the cafeteria.
Their children are Dale Westbrook and Joey Dawes, all of Canton, and Heather and John McCage of Tuttle, Okla.
The couple’s grandchildren include Thayne, Jacob and Jalen of Tuttle, Okla., and Logan, Jaiden and Kinsey of Canton.
The couple request no gifts.
Funks to celebrate 60th anniversary
Marvin and Elfrieda Funk of Hillsboro will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at First Mennonite Church, 102 S. Ash St., Hillsboro.
The couple’s children and grandchildren are inviting friends and family to come and share in this special day.
The couple were married March 29, 1953, at Goessel Mennonite Church. They made their home on the farm near Goessel. Marvin worked and retired from Tabor College. Elfrieda worked for many years and retired from Parkside Homes.
They have two children, Deborah and Merle, three grandchildren, Christopher, Jeremy and Danielle and four great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Braxton, and the late Mason and Madison.
The Funks are active in church and volunteer activities, and Lions Club International.
