Open house slated June 11 for Gfellers

Don and Marjorie (Parsons) Gfeller are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 11 at the Burns Community Center, 301 N. Washington Ave.

Friends and family are invited to attend.

The couple were married June 10, 1951, at Burns Methodist Church.

He is retired from Farmers Grain Co-op and El Dorado Dillons Grocery. She is retired from Newton’s Kinder Manufacturing and Benton Floral and Greenhouse. For 20 years they sold their produce at the El Dorado Farmers’ Market.

The couple’s five children and their families are hosting the event and include Lynnetta and Robert Miller of Dewey Okla., Donna and Gary Rodvelt of Hurricane W.Va., Carol and Blaine Ammeter of Ellinwood, Laura Moore of Newton and Arlen and Vonnie Gfeller of Peabody. They also have 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Marion couple celebrate 50 years

Robert L. and Judith J. (Bish) Priest are celebrating 50 years of marriage and Christian ministry with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 11 at the Eastmoor United Methodist Church, 105 Eastmoor Drive, Marion.

Family and friends from the community and from churches formerly served by Robert and Judith are invited to attend.

They were married June 9, 1961, at the Zion United Methodist Church in Wichita.

The couple began their ministry in Ohio and lived in Mount Cory and Sandusky. They moved to Kansas in 1968 and have lived in Glasco, Marion, Smith Center, Wichita, Arlington, St. John and Peabody before Robert retired in 1999. Judith retired in 2002.

They have three children, Miriam Newman of Rose Hill, Stephen of Kansas City, Mo., and Rachel Priest of Lenexa and four grandchildren.

Open house slated for couple’s 50th

Al and Roberta (Friesen) Isaac are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 26 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, 610 S. Main St., Hillsboro.

They were married June 30, 1961, at Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church in Meade.

The couple’s children are hosting the open house. They include Lynn and Hank Wiebe, Lyle and Kathy Isaac, Lonnie and Tracy Isaac and their families.
