Hillsboro couple celebrate 50 years

StultzAnniversary.jpg StultzAnniversary.jpg Harold Sr. and Sue Stultz of rural Hillsboro, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, July 12, at the Hillsboro Senior Center. They were married July 12, 1959, in Pratt.

Attending the celebration were family and friends from Dodge City, Lawrence, Pratt, Hutchinson, Goessel, Hillsboro and Lawton, Okla.

The event was hosted by their children and grandchildren. They are Bruce and Cindy Stultz of Lawton, Okla., Mike Stultz and Angie Slater, Jennifer Stultz and Todd Stultz all of Hillsboro and friends Barry and Adele Hougland, also of Hillsboro.

A meal, anniversary cake and memory books were created by Cindy, Crystal and Angie Stultz. PowerPoint pictures were by Grady, Cameron, Keenan and Shelbi...

Blackmans to celebrate 50 years

A card shower is requested to honor the 50th wedding anniversary of Leo and Peggy Blackman.

The couple was married June 20, 1959, at Fairbanks Methodist Church in Fairbanks, Texas.

They have three children, Kay Tajchman of Marion, Chris Blackman of Harvey, N. D., and Kelly Blackman deceased; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A family celebration will be held July 11 in Kansas City.

Franzes celebrate 50th anniversary

Franz-Becker-Then.jpg Robert and Darlene (Becker) Franz of Hillsboro celebrated their 50th wedding annivesary June 7 with a reception at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

The couple were married June 12, 1959, in Grand Island, Neb.

Robert was a practicing physician in Hillsboro from 1964 to 1874 and then joined a group practice in Oklahoma City until his retirement in 2000.

Darlene, a registered nurse, worked with her husband in their clinic the 20 years they practiced in Hillsboro. Upon retirement, they moved from Oklahoma back to Hillsboro.

The reception was hosted by their children, Terry and Cheryl Hagen of Hillsboro, Douglas and Kimberly Walker of Iowa, and four grandchildren.

Don and Joyce (Stowell) Weinbrenner will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with their family.

Don and Joyce were married June 20, 1959, at Wilson by the Rev. John Kahr.

They have lived on the family farm west of Hillsboro since 1969, where they farmed. Don has a machine shop in Lehigh, and Joyce has worked at Salem Home since 1977.

The couple have four children—Lori and Dennis Funk of rural Hillsboro, Doug and Colleen Weinbrenner of Hillsboro, Alan and Tammy Weinbrenner of McPherson, Bryan and Aimee Weinbrenner of McPherson—and 12 grandchildren.Riemers mark 50th anniversary

Goessel couple celebrate 50 years

 

Irvin and Susan (Dueck) Voth of Goessel celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a covered-wagon ride and visited key heritage sites of their parents when they were growing up.

They were married May 1, 1959, at Alexanderwohl Church in Goessel.

Children include Tim and Kathy Voth of Goessel; Chuck and Sharon Voth of Clinton, Mo.; and Mike and Dawn Voth of Littleton, Colo.; and nine grandchildren.

In addition to the wagon ride, a tour of the museum in Goessel, a catered meal, hosted by LeRoy and Nancy Schmidt followed at the Preparatory School on the grounds of the Mennonite Heratage Museum.
