Card shower to mark couple's 60th wedding anniversary

The children and grandchildren of Paul and Alice (Schippers) Meysing are requesting a card shower to honor the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary.

They were married May 2, 1950, in Wichita and have spent their married life in Lincolnville, with Paul farming and Alice homemaking.

Children are Will Meysing of Portland, Ore.; Don Meysing of Lincolnville; Greg and Darla Meysing of Goessel; Larry and Tammi Meysing of Piedmont, Okla.

Grandchildren are Adam, Jason, Alicen and Jennifer Meysing of Goessel; Nick and Jake Meysing of Piedmont, Okla.; Kristen and Brian Warren of Tulsa, Okla.; and Jon Meysing of Artesia, N.M.

Natalie Warren of Tulsa, Okla., is their great-grandchild.

Reception planned for 50th anniversary

A 50th wedding anniversary reception and celebration is planned for Jerry and Faye Makovec from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at the Holy Family Catholic Church Activity Center, 415 N. Cedar St., Marion.

The event is being hosted by the couple’s children: Donita and Gary Turk of Baldwin City; Joseph and Lori Makovec of Florence; Jeffrey Makovec of Halstead; Timothy and Rebecca Makovec of Marion and seven grandchildren.

They were married May 7, 1960, at St. Mark’s Holy Family Catholic Church in Marion with Father Victor Bieberle officiating.

The couple requests no gifts.

Franzens to celebrate 60th anniversary

Friends and family of Melvin and Mildred Jean (Schmidt) Franzen of rural Newton are invited to their 60th wedding anniversary from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the Goessel Civic Center, 101 S. Cedar, Goessel.

The couple were married March 25, 1950, at Tabor Mennonite Church in rural Newton.

Their children, LaVerle Franzen of Newton, Teresa and Loyd Kennedy of Cedar Vale and Doyle and Nancy Franzen of rural Newton, are hosting the celebration, along with their six grandchildren.

No gifts are requested.

Pankratzes to celebrate 65th

Paul and Arlene (Hamm) Pankratz of Hillsboro will celebrate their 65th anniversary Thursday, Feb. 11, and their family is requesting a card shower.

They were married in Durham, spending their married lives farming northwest of Durham and are now retired.

Their children include Ken Pankratz of Durham; Sherilyn and David Kadel, Randall and Donna and Tim Diener of Hillsboro. Grandchildren are Jennifer and Jeff Price of Denver, Colo., Holly and Tom Foster of Oklahoma City, Okla., Emily and Kent Nichols of Hesston and Marissa Diener of Hillsboro. Great-grandchildren are Austin, Alex and Ashton Price of Denver.

A family celebration is planned later in February.

Tampa couple's 50th will include reception

Don and Ramona Beisel of Tampa will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

In honor of this special day, their children are planning a reception and dance Sunday, Jan. 10, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Pilsen Community Center in Pilsen with Barefoot Becky & the Ivanhoe Dutchmen performing. Everyone is invited to the celebration.

Their children, Connie and Jim Janzen, Alan Beisel and Christine, and Tim and Angie Beisel, organized the celebration.

Donald Beisel and Ramona Stuchlik were married Jan. 2, 1960, at St. John's Nepomucene Church in Pilsen with Monsignor Tonne officiating.

They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The couple requests no gifts.
