Hillsboro couple celebrate 50 years

Gordon and Doris (Thiessen) Dalke will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe, Hillsboro.

The couple were married Oct. 21, 1960, at the Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church.

The open house reception will be hosted by their children: Doug and Debbie Dick of Hillsboro; Keven and Molly Dalke of Rogers, Ark.; Kendall and Carrie Heide of Wichita; Keith and Sherilyn Nafziger of Hesston and seven grandchildren.

The couple requests no gifts.

Hillsboro couple to celebrate 50th

John and Eileen Unruh of Hillsboro will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a “come and go” reception from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Hillsboro Scout House, Memorial Park.

The couple married Oct. 8, 1960, at Ebenfeld Church in Hillsboro. He worked for the city of Hillsboro street department before retiring in 2003. She works at The Insurance Center in Hillsboro.

They have one daughter, Lisa and Glen Herbel of Highlands Ranch, Colo. They also have two grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to their anniversary celebration. The couple requests no gifts.

Plenert’s 60th anniversary Oct. 15



A 60th-anniversary card shower is requested for Abe and Janice Plenert, married Oct. 15, 1950, in Hillsboro.

They have resided in Kansas, Colorado and Montana. In retirement, they most recently co-owned and operated a KOA campground in Dillon, Mont.

Their children are Karen Sleeth of Winston, Mo.; Jack and Cindy Plenert of Dillon, Mont.; Ron and Nancy Plenert of Goessel; and Debbie and Blake Miller of Wichita.

They have 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two sons, David and Jim Plenert, are deceased.

A family celebration is planned for November.

Emma Hamm

Mike and Jodie Hamm of Hillsboro announce the birth of their daughter, Emma Delaney, born Sept. 4 at Newton Medical Center in Newton.

She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long. She was welcomed home by her brother, Connor, 6.

Maternal grandparents are Bob and Brenda Hiebert of Hillsboro. Her great-grandmothers are Lee Blevins of Fall River. and Luella Hiebert of North Newton.
