Pearl and Velma Hadley announce their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 26 with family events planned.
They were married Aug. 26, 1961, in Halstead by Pastor Roland Goering. Both were employed at Halstead Hospital in Halstead.
Velma became a registered nurse after graduating from Bethel Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Bethel. Her husband was a barber. Both are retired.
The couple lived and worked in Kansas City, Hillsboro, Moscow, Idaho, San Diego, Calif., Yuma, Ariz., returning to Hillsboro in 1999 to begin retirement.
Their children are Brian and Theresa Hadley of Poway, Calif., with daughters Erica and Rachel and Janice and Daniel Schmidt of Salida, Colo.

A 50th wedding anniversary reception for Norman and Rosella (Ediger) Epp of Hillsboro is planned from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 7 with a short program at 2:30 p.m. at the Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church activity center, 610 S. Main, Hillsboro.
The Epps were married Aug. 4, 1961, at Henderson Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson, Neb.
The reception is being hosted by the couple’s children. Family members include Lois and Craig Wollman and daughters Bethany and Andrea of Menno, S.D.; Karen and David Franklin and children Caleb Harrison and Laurel of Wichita and David and Jenny Epp and son Lincoln of Hillsboro.
All family and friends of the couple are invited to the celebration.

Norman and Rosella (Ediger) Epp of Hillsboro are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children.

Robert and Helen (Ediger) Fenstermacher are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with a come-and-go card shower from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 18, at the Hillsboro Senior Center, 212 N. Main St., Hillsboro.
They were married June 30, 1951, at the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church in Reedley, Calif., and moved to Hillsboro in 1995.
He is retired from Bank of America as a lending officer and a retired pastor to senior adults from various churches, including Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. He enjoys translating the New Testament from Greek to English and writing commentary on the passages.

Raymond and Eunice Matz of Hillsboro are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 26 at Hillsboro Senior Center, 212 N. Main St.
The couple were married at First Mennonite Church on June 22, 1946, and have lived in Hillsboro all their married life.
Ray owned and operated Matz Glass and Upholstery for 61 years. During that time, he was also a rural mail carrier.
For 26 years, Eunice worked as a secretary for USD 410 School District. She later served 15 years at Hillsboro Senior Center.
