Couple to celebrate 60th anniversary

Fred Helmer and Edith Graham were married Oct. 17, 1948 at Syracuse. Since that time, they have resided in Wichita, Liberal and Marion.
Fred Helmer worked for Security Oil in Wichita and Liberal for 25 years. He then purchased his own business, Helmer’s Service in Marion.
Edith Helmer worked for the state of Kansas for 26 years and for Home Health in Marion County.
Both are retired. They have four children: David Helmer of Marion (and Debra Thomason); Harold Helmer of Denison, Iowa; Deanna Gilbert (Royce) of Alma and Dan Helmer (Brenda) of Andover.

The event will be hosted by their two children and their families: Brenda J. and husband Bill Arloff and Bradley J. and wife Valerie Anderson.
The grandchildren are William, Brenna and Alicia.
The couple was married Oct. 5, 1958 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Canton. He is retired from Agco in Hesston with 46 years of service. He is active in construction and carpentry.

Harold and Joyce (Duerksen) Unruh, rural Goessel, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 23 with a barbecue meal for family and friends hosted by their children.
The couple was married Aug. 23, 1958, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel. Harold retired from AGCO in 2003, and Joyce retired from secretarial work after 32 years.
Their children are Jeff and Barb of rural Walton, and Mike and Jodi of rural Goessel. They have four grandchildren.

Joe and Rosalie Suderman celebrated their 60th Wedding anniversary from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 with family and friends at a reception at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
Joe Suderman grew up in Enid, Okla., and was attending Tabor College when he met Rosalie Dout from Okeene, Okla. She was attending a Tabor event with her church youth group. They were married Aug. 8, 1948, in Okeene.
They spent much of their married life in Texas, where he served as a doctor of osteopathy. He and his cousin Emery Suderman founded the Suderman Clinic, a family practice, in Pharr, Texas, in 1961.

Gaylord and Valera Hamm will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 1. They were married Oct. 1, 1948, in Florence.
Their children Larry and Bonnie Winter of Silver Lake, Ron and Barbara Williams of Glempool, Okla., Jim and Myrna Hamm of Tampa, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will host a family dinner for them on Oct. 11.
