Raymond and Sylvia (Unruh) Abrahams of Hillsboro will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 25 at 1 Park Ave., Hillsboro.
They were married Nov. 30, 1947, at Hillsboro First Mennonite Church. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1980 and his wife was a homemaker. The couple have lived in Hillsboro since their marriage.
In addition to their vocations, both have given time to church and other groups. He has enjoyed restoring and driving a 1932 Chevrolet Cabriolet. She likes playing table games, sewing and quilting.

Levern and Myra Love of Hillsboro marked their 70th wedding anniversary Oct. 18.
Six weeks after their wedding in 1942 at Emporia, Levern was inducted into the Navy and served for three years of active duty. Myra Lee (Irwin) was employed in defense work and as a nurse in Emporia and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Levern worked 37 years as an electrician and also farmed. The couple raised five children, have 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
For most of their adult lives, the couple lived in the Lebo and Neosho Rapids area. They moved to Hillsboro five years ago to be near their daughter, Jane King of Marion, and niece Lindy Wiens of Hillsboro.

Francis and Mary (Seiler) Jirak of Tampa will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 27.
Everyone is invited to attend festivities in their honor, including a polka dance starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Tampa Senior Center.
The couple were married Oct. 28, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colwich, then moved to rural Tampa after their wedding. After living in town for a few years, they moved to their current residence outside of town so Francis could fulfill his dream of owning his own farm.
Francis retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 35 years and continues to raise crops and livestock. Mary keeps busy as a farmer’s wife, and is the head of the PSR program...

Hillsboro couple to celebrate 65th
Mary Louise Eitzen and Jona Harold Baltzer will soon be celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.
They were married Oct. 30, 1947, in Hillsboro.
Jona was a farmer, vocal music instructor, church musician and for nine years was director of the Kansas Mennonite Men’s Chorus. His wife is a retired secretary and nurse having worked as a physician assistant in Moundridge.
They are choosing a card shower instead of a public celebration because of health issues.

Hillsboro couple celebrate 70 years
Levi Brown and Georgia Dick eloped Oct. 3, 1942, at 18 years old with Judge Hargett of Marion officiating.
They have two children to include JoAnn and husband Mark Taku and Jerald Brown and wife Alma.
While some people said the marriage wouldn’t last, the couple is celebrating 70 years of marriage.
