Mike and Heather Crocker of Hesston announce the birth of their daughter, Gracelynn Eliana Crocker, born May 30 at Newton Medical Center.

She weighed 7 pounds, 7.4 ounces, and was 19 inches long.

Her siblings include Daniel Crocker, 30, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Laura Crocker, 28, of Las Vegas, Nev., Jennifer Colburn, 23, of Hesston and Kimberly Crocker, 21, of Hesston.

a homemaker of Goessel, died Jan. 25.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Goessel Mennonite Church, 109 S. Church St. Burial will follow at Goessel Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Visitation, with family present, is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 303 E. Main St., Goessel.

She was born Feb. 22, 1915, to Cornelius R. and Elizabeth (Ratzlaff) Kliewer in Corn, Okla. On Jan. 17, 1937, she was married to Anton Fast, who predeceased her.

Our new menus are out for February so stop by and pick one up and come enjoy a meal with us.

Bingo is Wednesday after lunch. The next event is Tuesday, Feb. 5, with Jack Hobbs from Schowalter Villa sharing his antique tractors.

We hope people can come and enjoy lunch and the program.

Come and enjoy cards and dominoes Wednesday, Feb. 6, after the noon meal and Feb. 8 everyone is encouraged to bring their Show ‘n Tell Valentine Day memories to share.

Gayla Ratzlaff, coordinator of Marion County Department on Aging, will be here Wednesday, Feb. 6, to help individuals file their Homestead and Food Sales return. To make an appointment, call the center.

Dicks, Calam plan April 20 wedding

 

John and Robin Dicks of Marion and Richard and Joni Calam of Hillsboro announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Olivia Dicks of Marion to Douglas Calam of Hillsboro.

The bride-to-be is a home-schooled high school graduate. She is expected to graduate February 2013 from Thomas Edison State University.

The groom-elect is a high school graduate of Elyria Christian School in Elyria, and employed at Cabinets And More in Burns.

Both are members and part of the worship team at Good News Christian Church in Marion. The couple plan to wed April 20.

Bible study to begin Feb. 7 in Hillsboro

 

Community Bible Study will begin a new study series at 9 a.m. Feb. 7 in the Hearth Room of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe.

The study is written by Beth Moore; baby-sitting is available. People interested in buying a study book can call 620-947-3411.

 

 

Mid-CAP to offer free tax services

 

Mid-Kansas Community Action Program Inc. will offer free basic tax services to Marion County residents starting next month.

Residents of Marion County who earned $51,000 or less in 2012 are eligible for tax assistance from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, starting Feb. 4 through March 29.
