Gerry Lynn Hagaman and Charlotte Brownlee Hagaman of Hillsboro are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, hosted by daughter Jamie, at 1105 Parkway Court, Hillsboro.
The couple were married March 9, 1963, at First Baptist Church in Satanta.
Lynn was a general contractor and photographer and Charlotte was a nurse throughout their married life. They are both retired.

hillsboro senior centerOur business meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 20, during our noon meal. Haris Zafar will also be here at 11 a.m. that day to give hearing aid checks.
The monthly birthday dinner is Feb. 25 with music by Leora Grunau. We hope others will come join us for this meal and program.
Mary McFadden is at the center March 12, and we are scheduling foot care appointments.
March menus are now available for those who would like to pick one up at center.
The center’s annual fundraising event is March 16 at the Milk & Honey Bed and Breakfast, which includes the meal and music by Robert and Anita Brookens. The cost is $100, with all proceeds going to support the senior center.

Easter, Burk to wed June 22 in Hesston
Mike and Rachel Easter of Hesston announce the engagement of their daughter Elizabeth to Kenneth Burk of Park City.
The groom-elect is the son of Larry and Donna Burk of Kechi.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Rubena Wiebe and the late Vernon Wiebe of Hillsboro and Jack and Patty Easter of McPherson.
The couple plan to marry June 22 at Hesston Mennonite Church, 309 S. Main St., Hesston.

‘Day for Deanna’ benefit set Feb. 23Owners of Big Scoop, 616 E. Main St., Marion, are sponsoring a benefit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 23 for Deanna Snyder, 6, who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is undergoing treatment.
Her parents are Jessica and Trinity Snyder of Marion.
The benefit will include cotton candy, kettle corn and a silent auction ending at 6 p.m. Donations for the silent auction and volunteers are also needed.
All proceeds will benefit Deanna and her family.

• ELAINE J. CARGILL, 76,died Feb. 4, in Mission Viejo, Calif.
The memorial service was Feb. 10 at O’Connor Mortuary and Chapel in Laguna Hills, Calif.
She was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Madrid, Neb., to Harold and Hulda (Wall) Flaming.
In August 1963 she was married to Boyd Cargill, who survives.
She also is survived by a daughter, Carolyn and husband Randy Brazil of Hillsboro, and four grandchildren.

a retired breakfast cook for Tabor College, died Feb. 9 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe, with pastor Brian Allen officiating. A private family burial is planned.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m...
