hillsboro senior center

We want to thank everyone who helped at the senior center’s annual meeting Oct. 18.

It was a good turnout.

Activities for this week and next week include Jenny Shipmen with the Alzheimer’s Association, who will be at the center Oct. 24.

“Show ‘n Tell” is scheduled for Oct. 26 with this month’s birthday...

Help available for Medicare part D

Nancy Pihl, Kansas State Extension agent and counselor with Senior Health Insurance Counseling, is offering help for those in a Medicare part D plan for 2013.

A current Medicare prescription drug plan (part D) might have worked this year, but might not be the best plan in 2013. Insurance companies can and do make changes to premiums, deductibles and co-payments every year.

To schedule an appointment for reviewing and enrolling eligible recipients in a Medicare part D plan for 2013 call, 620-382-2325.

Pihl said she encourages those wanting assistance to bring their Medicare card and a list of current medications, dosage and times taken per day.

hillsboro senior center

The business meeting is scheduled for noon Wednesday, Oct. 17. Future meetings are on the third Wednesday of the month.

Haris Zafar will also be here that day at 11 a.m. providing hearing aid checks.
