We had a great turnout for our Thanksgiving dinner. Our thanks to Carla Koslowsky for playing the piano and Jona Baltzer for leading us in a music sing-along. Everyone enjoyed it.

This week Haris Zafar will be here at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, for hearing aid check. In addition, a business meeting update about the senior center will be presented during the noon meal.

Voting ballots for new board members will be at the center until Nov. 21 and we encourage everyone...

Ediger, Pragel to wed in Hillsboro

Lyle and Rhonda Ediger of Hillsboro and David and Fran Pragel of Alpharetta, Ga., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Candace Ediger to Kevin Pragel.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and will be graduating in May from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a degree in psychology.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Chattahoochee High School and will be graduating in December from Toccoa Falls College earning a degree in Biblical Studies. He plans to attend seminary next fall.

They are planning a January wedding in Hillsboro.

Hymn sing planned Sunday in Hillsboro

 

The monthly community hymn sing begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at First Mennonite Church, Ash and Grand streets, Hillsboro.

This month’s theme, “Jehovah-Jireh: the God Who Provides,” will include singing, prayer and scripture reading.

Those attending will also have an opportunity to select favorite hymns to be sung.

Coordinating the hymn sing is Steve Vincent. Vocal music will be provided by Susan Jantzen, pastor, and Holly Swartzendruber.

Our Thanksgiving meal is Friday, Nov. 16, but we are still taking orders for carry-out meals. With the large amount of meals being prepared that day, those wanting a meal to go need to call or stop by the center on Nov. 14.

Come join us Wednesday for Bingo.

The center will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 22 and 23. Anyone who would like a frozen meal for Nov. 23 is asked to call by Nov. 16. Meals will be sent out Nov. 21.

We want to thank the Hillsboro High School band for performing Nov. 12 during the noon meal.

Volunteers are always needed. For more information about volunteering or other center activities, call 620-947-2304.
