Amber Richmond and Scott Thompson, both of Overland Park, exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. May 26 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Kerry Ninemire of St. Mary Queen of the Universe officiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride’s parents are Rodney and Diane Richmond of Marion. The groom’s parents are Jeff and Mary Thompson of Salina.

The Marion County Depart­ment on Aging is providing assistance to older adults interested in comparing and enrolling in 2013 Medicare prescription drug plans.

Open enrollment ends Dec. 7.

Staff will be available to take appointments from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, by appointment. Walk-ins are welcomes Thursday, Nov. 29 and Dec, 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Marion Senior Center.

Ratzlaff will be at the Hillsboro Senior Center Friday, Nov. 30. Call Brenda Moss at 620-947-2304 to set up an appointment.

Ratzlaff will be at the Pea­body Senior Center from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 26. Call Ruth Lott at the Peabody center to set up an appointment.

a state employee, died Nov. 17 at Salem Home of Hillsboro.

The service was Nov. 20 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 1, 1928, to Joseph and Florence Schuyler at Vermillion. On Nov. 23, 1969, he was married to Lois Schlotthauer, who survives.

Daughter Jane Johnson of Wichita also survives.

Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, KS 67063.

a farmer of Hillsboro, died Nov. 17 at Hillsboro Community Hospital in Hillsboro.

Mader Amilya baby Amilya Mader



Conan and Kathy Mader of Hillsboro announce the birth of their daughter, Amilya Kath­erine, born Oct. 11 at Newton Medical Center.

She weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 181?2 inches long.

Welcoming her home was brother Zane, 4.

Paternal grandparents are Wanda Myers of Altoona.

Maternal grandparents are Becky Beichter of Clay Center.

Great-grandparents are Oneita Evans of Clay Center and Gene Hull of Fredonia.

Ryan and Tyanne Unruh of Galva announce the birth of their daughter, Cassidy Brynn, born Nov. 2 at Newton Medical Center.

She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long.

We had a great turnout for our Thanksgiving dinner. Our thanks to Carla Koslowsky for playing the piano and Jona Baltzer for leading us in a music sing-along. Everyone enjoyed it.

This week Haris Zafar will be here at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, for hearing aid check. In addition, a business meeting update about the senior center will be presented during the noon meal.

Voting ballots for new board members will be at the center until Nov. 21 and we encourage everyone to vote. Ballots will be counted after the noon meal.

Our birthday dinner is Monday, Nov. 26.

December menus are ready to be picked up.
