a homemaker, formerly of Caldwell, died Dec. 16 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

A family memorial service will be at a later date.

She was born July 6, 1920, to Harry and Esther (Jensen) Jean in Black Hawk County, Iowa. On Dec. 29, 1944, she was married to Glenn L. Boydston, who predeceased her in 1999.

Willis and Eleanor (Wein­brenner) Herbel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Hillsboro Senior Center, 212 N. Main St.

They were married Dec. 26, 1962, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel.

The anniversary celebration is being hosted by their children and grandchildren. They are DeLayne and Christine Herbel, Landon, Erich and Carson of rural Lehigh; Kevin and Paula Herbel, Aaron, Danea, Joshua, Caleb, Jacob, Karina, Jeremiah, Calabria and Isaiah of Durham; Todd and Kristi Krispense, Kolton, Konrad, Klayton, Kordell, Kaitlyn and Karalyn of Marion and Jon and Ashlee Herbel, Elena, Taelin and Nathan of Salina.

We would like to remind everyone if there is inclement weather, to please watch the local news channels as we will have it on the bottom of the screen if we are closed because of the weather.

We don’t go by the school schedule. Instead, we decide if it’s safe for you to get out and eat at the center. Please keep this in mind.

We are playing Bingo Wednesday, Dec. 12 after lunch and Dec. 13, if you will bring your wrapping paper and gifts, I can help with wrapping.

We have a program at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 14 with Manirva Earple Hickenooper. It should be a fun time. We hope to see as many people as possible.

Haris Zafar will be here at 11 a.m. Dec. 19 to do hearing checks.

Harlow Esau

Matt and Meghan Esau of South Bend, Ind., announce the birth of their daughter, Harlow Elyse Esau, born Oct. 27 in South Bend.

She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 183?4 inches long.

Harlow was welcomed home by sister Adrianna, 4.

Maternal grandparents are Doug and Mary Gentry of Mishawaka, Ind.

Paternal grandparents are LaVerne and Linda Esau of Hillsboro.

Weinbrenner, Ford to wed March 23

Doug and Colleen Wein­bren­ner of Hillsboro and Jim and Elle Ford of Oskaloosa, Iowa, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Audrey Weinbrenner of Mission to Brent Ford of Olathe.

The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a 2012 graduate of Mid­America Nazarene University, earning a degree in psychology.

The groom-elect is a 2008 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and a 2012 graduate, also of MidAmerica Nazarene University, earning a degree in business administration.

The couple are planning a March 23 wedding at The Loft in Osawatomie.
