Enns, Stauffer wed in Washington



 

Lisa Enns and Matt Stauffer, both of Seattle, Wash., exchanged wedding vows at 5 p.m. Sept. 2 at Lake Washington Sailing and Rowing Club in Seattle.

The double-ring wedding ceremony took place overlooking the lake with pastor Jeanne Rempel of Evergreen Mennonite Church in Seattle officiating.

The bride’s parents are Jim and Brenda Enns of Hillsboro. The groom’s parents are Rus and Deb Stauffer of Lima, Ohio.

Grandparents of the bride are Ronald and Dora Unruh of Durham and Lauren and the late Luetta Enns of Hillsboro.

The groom’s grandparents are no longer living.

• Sri-chol (sheree) Mickey-brown, 47,

of Hillsboro and employed at Harvey County SRS office, died March 14 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

The service was March 18 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 229 Walnut St., Marion.

She was born Dec. 16, 1965, in Bangkok, Thailand. On Sept. 11, 1998, she was married to Elmer Mickey, who survives.

Other survivors include son Mathew Brown of Washington D.C.; brother Jeremiah Frist of California; sister, Jenifer Fletcher of Lodiburg, Ky.; parents, Jack E. and Porn (Chanthorn) Frist of Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Memorials may be made to Relay For Life of Johns Hopkins University and sent in care of Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Hillsboro, KS 67063.

Westbrook’s 40th anniversary nears

 The children of Don and Ladonna Schlicht Westbrook of Canton are planning a 40th anniversary open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Canton Com­munity Building, 100 S. Main St., Canton.

The couple were married March 9, 1973, and are lifetime residents of Canton.

Don has been employed at AGCO-Hesston for 43 years and his wife is employed at the Canton-Galva Middle School in the cafeteria.

Their children are Dale West­brook and Joey Dawes, all of Canton, and Heather and John McCage of Tuttle, Okla.

The couple’s grandchildren include Thayne, Jacob and Jalen of Tuttle, Okla., and Logan, Jaiden and Kinsey of Canton.

The couple request no gifts.

Library seeks input on ‘open’ policy

The Hillsboro Public Library is seeking public input regarding its policy to close its doors when USD 410 is closed.

Some library patrons have suggested the library should be open when the city office is open, according to Steve Vincent of the Library Board of Trustees.

The board is requesting input from the community, especially from regular patrons. A brief survey is available at the library, or patrons may simply give their input to library staff.
