hillsboro senior centerMarch is here and we hope to jump into spring soon, but we are grateful for the moisture. We would rather have spring showers then snow showers, though.
We have cards and games planned at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, and after lunch, we will play Bingo because we didn’t play last week.

Free child screening in Marion March 12Marion County Early Intervention Services will offer a free screening for children birth through 5 years old Tuesday, March 12, at the Marion Presbyterian Church, 610 Lawrence St.
Appointments will be available from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. At the screening, development will be checked in the areas of learning, motor, language and social. Vision and hearing will also be screened.
This process usually takes at least one hour for a child to complete. All children are welcome, but an appointment is necessary. To make one, call 620-382-2858.

Heidi Schroeder and Tim Roesch exchanged wedding vows at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, 610 S. Main St., Hillsboro, with Wendell Loewen, and the bride’s father, pastor Steve Schroeder, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Penni Schroeder of Hillsboro. Grandmothers of the bride are Jackie Mickels of Hillsboro and Susan Baker of Lynden, Wash.
The groom is the son of Brian and Linda Roesch of Quinter. The groom’s grandparents are Susan Crist and Royce and Mary Roesch of Quinter.

Keith and Sina Wilcox of rural Chase County are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and their family is requesting a card shower.
The couple were married March 15, 1963, eloping to Clayton, N.M. They settled on Sina’s family farm in southwest Chase County and spent more than 25 years dairy farming. They have since retired from dairying and spend their time with their beef herd and dogs.
The Wilcoxes have three children to include Tina of rural Burns, Toby of Marion, Cherie of Hesston and one grandchild, Josh of Manhattan.

Layne and Nancy Reusser of Wichita and Randy and Debra Spencer of Huntsville, Ala., announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Chloe Reusser to Sean Spencer, both of Wichita.
Grandparents of the bride are Shirley and the late Dwayne Reusser of Hillsboro and Homer and Betty Melgren of Osage City.
Grandparents of the groom are Shirley and the late Marion Houk of Olathe and Grayce and the late Ivan Spencer of Moran.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Trinity Academy in Wichita and attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
