The children of Don and Ladonna Schlicht Westbrook of Canton are planning a 40th anniversary open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Canton Community Building, 100 S. Main St., Canton.
The couple were married March 9, 1973, and are lifetime residents of Canton.
Don has been employed at AGCO-Hesston for 43 years and his wife is employed at the Canton-Galva Middle School in the cafeteria.

Library seeks input on ‘open’ policyThe Hillsboro Public Library is seeking public input regarding its policy to close its doors when USD 410 is closed.
Some library patrons have suggested the library should be open when the city office is open, according to Steve Vincent of the Library Board of Trustees.
The board is requesting input from the community, especially from regular patrons. A brief survey is available at the library, or patrons may simply give their input to library staff.

Logan and Cassie Geis of Emporia announce the birth of their son, Kayden Lance Geis, born March 6 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.
He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

• irma mary dahl, 102,of Hillsboro, died Feb. 13.
The service was Feb. 20 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 Prairie Pointe, Hillsboro.
She was born July 28, 1910.
Survivors include sons Calvin and Donald; daughters Frances Unruh, Lillian Falls, Dorothy Dahl, Sharon Schroeder, Beverly Boese and Barbara Braun; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Wichita Union Rescue Mission and sent in care of Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, St., Hillsboro, KS 67063.

Three events to mark the calendar for include: Bingo on Wednesday, March 13; a presentation on Thursday, March 14, by Sharolyn Tibbets, one of our board members, and on Friday, Show ‘n Tell.
For those wanting to participate in Show ‘n Tell, please bring quilts to share.
St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday, March 17, and everyone is reminded to wear green.
Tickets are still available for the center’s fundraising event at 6 p.m. March 16 at the Milk and Honey Bed & Breakfast. The cost is $100 per person and includes dinner and entertainment. All proceeds will go to help the senior center.
