Heidi Braun and Todd McAtee, both of Shawnee, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Ron and Dena Braun of North Newton. She graduated from Tabor College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and is employed as an English as a second language teacher with the Kansas City public schools.

Games, gab and goodies will be held after lunch Wednesday, May 30, at the Hillsboro Senior Center.

Donut Day starts at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 1.

Mary McFadden will be here for foot care by appointment from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5. Karrie Rathbone, associate professor of biology at Tabor College, will speak after lunch for World Environment Day.

Jeanne Rziha will be offering diabetes classes from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 5, 12, 19 and 26. Cost is $15 per class and $10 for materials. To sign up, call the pharmacy or Jeanne at 947-3048.

The center will hold a fund-raising garage sale and silent auction June 8 and 9. The center is looking for donated clothes, household items, small appliances and miscellaneous items, which may...

Todd Siebert and Lori (Kraus) Herzet were married April 20 at Trinity United Methodist Church in El Dorado with pastor Steve Hysom officiating.

Matron of honor was Vickie Kraus, sister-in-law of the bride. Best man was Ty Siebert, brother of the groom. Escorting the bride was brother Don Kraus. Colton Siebert and Garrett Hoffner presented the rings.

The bride wore a white western outfit with a full-length skirt and matching blouse. It was complemented with a wide, off-white western belt of jewel design with boots to match.

The groom sported a charcoal and black western suit with black cowboy boots.

Misty Childs

 

Misty Marie Childs, 27, chiropractic assistant for Sharenberg Chiropractic in Hillsboro, died May 22 in Wichita.

Services were held May 26 at Haverhill Christian Church in Augusta. Burial was at Leon Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 5, 1979, to Timothy M. and Charlene (Holt) Donnelley. On Sept. 4, 1999, she was married to Mike Childs, who survives in Lehigh.

She is also survived by her parents, Tim and Connie Donnelley Sr. of Leon; her siblings, Wendy and Stacy Simon of Leon, C.J. and Tanya Higgins of Little River, Timothy Jr. and Jennifer of Wichita, Scott Higgins of Augusta, Jamie Dalrymple and Brandon Nachbor of Augusta and Casey and Stacey Donnelley of Augusta; her mother-in-law, Loretta and Max Kilmer of Lehigh...

She weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long.
