Leonard Friesen

Leonard K. Friesen, 80, businessman, died July 23 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, with pastor Roy Keller officiating.

Burial will be at 10 a.m., prior to the service, in Guadenau Cemetery.

The family will receive guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at Jost Funeral Home.

The bride is the daughter of Steven and Jane Walker of Hillsboro. She is the granddaughter of Elenora Walker of Pea­body and the late Elsie Myers of Hillsboro.

The groom is the son of Larry and Teresa Bruner of Nicholasville. He is the grandson of Maxine Mulcahy of Nicholasville, Bruce Mulcahy of Lancaster, Ky., Eva Goldey of Nicholasville and the late Tommy Bruner.

The bride was escorted by her father and attended by sisters Dena Mautz and Bridget Gladman. The bride’s niece, Ava Gladman, participated as the flower girl.

Groomsmen were Nolan Bruner, brother of the groom, and Daniel Thompson, friend.

Jason and Christy Currie of Omaha, Neb., announce the birth of a daughter, Summer Patricia, born June 9.

She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

She joins brother Isaiah, 2.

Grandparents are Don and Patty Den Hartog of Winchester, Va., and Dan and Patricia Currie of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Great-grandparents are Joe and Jan Walter of Hillsboro.Funk twins 

Brian and Polly Funk of Lehigh announce the birth of their identical twin daughters, Aimee Lucille and Abbigail Grace, born April 23 at Newton Medical Center.

Both weighed 5 pounds 9 ounces and were 17 1/2 inches long.

They join brother Kale, 4 1/2 years old.

Grandparents are Robert and Deborah Todd of Augusta and Vernon and Rose Funk of Lehigh.

Arnold and Edith Regier of Marion will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Kirby House in Abilene.

Arnold Regier and Edith Vogt were married Aug. 2, 1957, in Enid, Okla.

They have three children, Greg and Shelley Regier of Marion, Carol and Ernie Sweat of Wichita, Beth and David McKee of Derby; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ashley Renee Mueller of Assaria and Brett Adam Stoll of Overland Park announce their engagement and plans to be married.

Parents of the couple are Alan and Cindy Mueller of Assaria and Paul and Hene Stoll of Yates Center.

The bride-to-be graduated from Southeast of Saline High School and Kansas State University with a degree in elementary education. She will complete a degree in family studies in December from KSU.

She taught first grade at Centre Elementary School in Lost Springs last year. In the fall, she will teach kindergarten at Crestview Elementary School in Shawnee Mission.

The groom-to-be graduated from Yates Center High School and KSU with a degree in agribusiness.
