We had our birthday dinner Monday for all those who celebrated a September birthday.

In addition, we are scheduled to play Bingo after lunch on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

October menus are available and we encourage people to stop by and pick one up. We welcome everyone to come enjoy lunch with us.

As we get into fall, anybody is welcome to stop by for a cup of coffee and enjoy fellowship.

Volunteers are still needed and for those who can spare a few hours, please call the center.

Anyone who helps will get their meal free that day and all ages are welcome to volunteer.

If interested, stop by or call for more information.

Hillsboro woman to celebrate 80th

Pearl Koch of Hillsboro will be celebrating her 90th birthday Sunday, Oct. 7.

Her children, Wayne and Veronica Koch of Wichita, Carolyn Koch of Emporia, Gordon and Judy Hiebert of Hillsboro and Tom and Glenda Fleener of El?Dorado are hosting a birthday celebration in her honor.

The event will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Durham Baptist Church, 725 Abilene Ave. Friends are invited. No gifts.

Couple to celebrate 70th anniversary

Levi Brown and Georgia Dick eloped Oct. 3, 1942, at 18 years old with Judge Hargett of Marion officiating.

They have two children to include JoAnn and husband Mark Taku and Jerald Brown.

While some people said the marriage wouldn’t last, the couple is celebrating 70 years of marriage.

Frick, Clark plan October wedding

Curtis and Clara Frick of Durham and Brent and Lou Ann Clark of Bushton announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Tina Frick to Matthew Clark.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Hillsboro High School. She works for Grant, McKinney & Simmonds Optometrists, Newton.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Quivera Heights High School. He is employed at Bombardier Learjet, Wichita.

They are planning an Oct. 27 wedding in Hillsboro.
