A roomful of 18 Hillsboro-area youth were busy with crafts, games and other activities during the first “Mom’s Day Out” sponsored Saturday by the Hillsboro Recreation Commission. The activity entertained the youth and gave their parents time to shop without the little ones around. The group finished two craft items while listening to a few Christmas stories in between. After crafts, the children enjoyed a visit from Santa Claus and had a chance to be in a photo with him and share their Christmas wishes. A snack of cookies and milk was followed with an afternoon movie.
